The worst part is we warned people about this, and they voted for it anyway.

Turning immigration enforcement into a made-for-TV spectacle may grab headlines, yet it masks a deeper reality: large-scale raids and fast-track deportations are already reshaping daily life for millions of families. Since January, ICE arrests have climbed into the hundreds per day, with military cargo planes now ferrying detainees abroad—an operation officials themselves tout as the largest deportation effort in history.

Beyond the optics, research is clear: aggressive enforcement correlates with higher rates of anxiety, depression, and PTSD among both immigrant and U.S.-born children, while even nearby raids can hurt birth outcomes and school performance. Communities pay a steep price in heightened fear, fractured trust, and lost civic engagement—costs that rarely make it into political scorecards.

Whatever one’s policy stance, a humane society measures success by how well it preserves dignity, due process, and family unity—not by the ratings a reality-show pitch might earn. Any conversation about border security should run in parallel with investments in legal pathways, trauma-informed support services, and community-based transparency tools that protect everyone’s rights. Compassionate, systems-level solutions—rooted in evidence and shared humanity—offer a path forward that outshines any spectacle-driven game.

Wow. 100% TRUTH. Extremely eloquent statement of the current immigration enforcement status! Everyone should read your comment two or three times to synthesize it! ;-)

DONALD TRUMP IS THE MOST DESPICABLE IDIOTIC RACIST, RAPIST, IMMORAL, DUMB ASS LUNATIC EVER ELECTED TO USA GOVERNMENT; FACE IT MAGA’S, TRUMP HAS DEMEMTIA!

Trump is a life-long bigot. Media whitewash of this is despicable. Excluded black people from his apartments, birtherism, calls black countries sh*tholes, etc.

It is always safe to assume that every Trump policy decision is tainted by either bigotry or bribery.

I was recently told that a second vote for Trump didn’t mean that person was political.

If your vote is an endorsement of a candidate and you know that candidate is an actual criminal, but votes your way then his way IS your way. His morals and standards are yours.

Anyone who can support the Trump administration are vile people through and through. Period.

This is my subtle 8647 shirt 👇

8647 simply means: dump Trump, reject Trump, we refuse him and his message does NOT speak for me. Anyway, MAGAs won't get it, they can't do math! 🤣

I am Canadian but I am an adopted child. I have found my lovely and so welcoming family. They are all American. I am so frightened for them. From the almost best country in the world to become a total shambles in a few months is unbelievable. I sing in Sweet Adelines ( ladies barbershop Choruses). We had a place in our International Competition. My Chorus took a vote and now we are not going. It is in October in Columbus Ohio. Very disappointing because of agent orange. So much cruelty is hard to watch.

Thank you, Michael. An interesting analysis. I would comment on the accuracy but I am not an American and I don't live in the Divided States of America (thank goodness on both points--I am waaaaay too old to deal with something like this in person). I wish you all the best and hope that you continue to keep us informed. Stay safe and ELBOWS UP!

Terrifying to watch all of this roll out...or, in many cases, spew out like a veritable fire hose of filth. One would think (and one would always be wrong) that there are levels below which they can't sink, as in kidnapping immigrants and citizens alike, with no criminal record, and sending them off to a godawful prison in a third country. But now this TV show that is being discussed would even further dehumanize these pawns of the fascist leader. "Disgust" is a better word than discussed, and even that doesn't cover it.

The slime in which this man wallows is bottomless, and many of us simply aren't capable of imagining what the next horror will be.

To Mr Cohen tRUMP has many phobias As a former insider can you give us some tips on how to exploit his many Neuroses, so we can inflict as much stress as possible?

Kathy H's avatar

Exactly. Anyone that has lived with an abuser recognizes the behavior & doesn't doubt there is no end to it. The question is how to stop it. Yes, we need to join together to stand against this, but how do we cut off the air supply? Our outrage only fuels the fire, he has said controversy is his secret weapon.

So it is how to stand against a Known abuser, who fuels our outrage with controversy . Lets brainstorm how to use his phobias and his need for adoration in a way that shows his decline, as he is only fallible human . We need to leverage his weakness.

What comes to mind for me is an emotionally damaged child that feels even bad attention is good. He turned wearing a diaper into a badge of loyalty & pride. He isn't embarrassed by any of his failures in competence or decency. He does have an obsession with, & delusion surrounding, his appearance, we should maybe focus on his precious hair, lol. It will be great if Michael Cohen can give us specific tips.

Oh, yes, that's right. I didn't catch that incident, but know she is very versed on his pathology. The thing I get from her is that knowing the causes of his behavior is in no way any basis for being ok with the behavior. He is responsible for perpetuating abuse & has to be stopped. Thanks for reminding me about her.

I second that motion. I would love for Michael Cohen to receive the medal of freedom when the USA is headed by a sane administration. He deserves it for exposing the evil that is now taking place in the USA and his courage in spite of the risks to himself.

It's such a pleasure to read your posts and they ring true because they come from the heart.

Thank you, Michael. Please, stay safe.
