My initial response to this post -

I see a fascist, authoritarian dictator rapidly morphing into totalitarianism.

So. Here we are. We’re literally bearing witness to trump’s end game. He’s shamelessly laying it all right out there for the world to see.

“In a totalitarian state, the government’s range of control over the people is virtually unlimited. The government controls nearly all aspects of the economy, politics, culture, and society. Education, religion, the arts and sciences, and even morality and reproductive rights are controlled by totalitarian governments.”

If one studies history one can see the same pattern emerging which has been used throughout history of those regimes. In mediaeval times it was the monarchy who controlled the masses in the same way.

Yes, Feudalism being a primary one.

This link is an interesting comparative analysis of feudalism in the dark ages and modern capitalism as a reemergence of feudalism (neo-feudalism).

Okay I admit it, I’m a total nerd! 🤓

https://justinnovelli.wordpress.com/tag/comparison-between-feudalism-and-capitalism/

“ Through massive policy shifts that began in the 1970s under the Nixon Administration, including global privatization, multinational corporations, and free trade agreements, a new theory suggests humanity has entered into a modern era of feudalism. Neofeudalism is the belief that those who control the top 1% of wealth have positioned themselves as the new lords of the manors. They likewise, lease certain aspects of their holdings to vassals (CEOs, politicians, and bankers to name a few), who are then able to control the rest of us… aka serfs.”

Trump wields the FBI as a weapon against dissent, chilling anyone who dares oppose him. The message is clear: criticize him, and the state will come for you.

Apparently Republicans and MAGAs are okay with this. I wonder how they will react with the FBI shows up at their homes because they didn't kiss the ring? When will enough be finally enough? When does this insanity come to an end? How did we get here? Are we going to allow this to continue?

This is what happens in authoritarian dictatorships. Fascism on display. We have gone down the road of fascism and if we don't do something soon we are gone.

Enemy’s list on letterhead.

Ben, this is it. Retribution ain’t no chapter it’s the whole f**king book. Bolton raid today, Letitia James and Alvin Bragg “investigations” yesterday, Adam Schiff tomorrow. That’s not no law ya’llthat’s a hit list with stationery.

Receipts, not vibes. To hell with vibes:

• Cohen’s right the play is cast the critic as a “security threat,” raid, indict, then brag you were “right.”

• D.C. show-of-force while crime’s near historic lows. It’s cosplay with badges.

• Same week Texas locks a chamber to jam a map. Different rooms, same power grab.

Call it plain: when you weaponize process for payback, you’re not a president you’re a damn punk with prosecutors. Stop pissing on the Constitution and calling it case law.

One move for the room: clip 20 seconds from this piece “Retribution is policy now”—and blast it. Drop timestamps that slap. And if you can, fuel the signal: add the pod, leave a 5-star, and keep sending tips and receipts.

They want a retraction. We publish the docket. Paper wins. Always. www.xplisset.com

The Senate and the Bonus Expeditionary Force of 1932; https://tinyurl.com/4dnw8z74 [In July 1932, Gen. Douglas MacArthur, under orders from President Hoover, directed the US Army to fire weapons at US WWI Veterans after the police had killed two veterans.]

"After World War I, a Senate investigation into soldiers’ wartime pay found that enlisted men had received “very much less than that received by the lowest class of labor at home.” Veterans’ organizations… lobbied Congress for additional compensation for those veterans. Veterans seeking immediate payment of their “adjusted service” certificates formed the “Bonus Expeditionary Force” or BEF. They occupied deserted downtown buildings in Washington, D.C., for months in 1932.

[In] 1924 Representative Hamilton Fish of New York, a decorated World War veteran, introduced an amended proposal to provide veterans with “adjusted service” certificates redeemable in 1945. The Adjusted Compensation Act, later known as the Bonus Act, would provide to veterans “a deferred interest-bearing certificate payable in 1945 or, upon the veteran’s death, to his beneficiaries.” Congress passed the legislation in May 1924.

Congress promptly overrode [President Coolidge’s] veto and millions of World War veterans applied for their certificates. In the spring of 1932, BEF chapters from across the country converged on Washington, where veterans presented to members of Congress petitions with more than two million signatures supporting immediate certificate payments.

On June 17, 1932, veterans packed the Senate galleries, impatient for the debate to begin. But as the debate wore on, it became clear that the bill had only tepid support in the Senate. John “Elmer” Thomas of Oklahoma, the bill’s Senate sponsor, acknowledged its likely defeat. Outside the Capitol, reporters relayed the news to disappointed veterans, who broke into a chorus of “America” and then peacefully dispersed.

But the next morning, veterans returned to the Capitol, vowing to remain in Washington and continue lobbying Congress for immediate payment of their certificates. Vice President Charles Curtis grew so alarmed at the swelling crowd at the Capitol that he called in the Marines from the nearby barracks. Congress adjourned on July 16, and four days later city officials issued an eviction notice to BEF leaders.

The eviction process began peacefully on July 28, but violence soon erupted. When Washington police attempted to evict the squatters, the veterans threw bricks and the police opened fire, killing two veterans. Fearing a riot, President Hoover called out the U.S. Army, under General Douglas MacArthur's command. MacArthur pledged to “break the back of the BEF.” Tanks rolled into the capital city and soldiers, with fixed bayonets, began rounding up veterans and bystanders alike. MacArthur’s soldiers not only emptied out the Pennsylvania Avenue buildings but crossed the Anacostia River and set fire to the largest BEF camp. The next day’s newspapers featured photographs of the army routing its own veterans."

Republican Gov. Jim Rhodes dispatched National Guard troops, against the advice of university and many local officials, who understood the mood in the town of Kent and on campus far better than Rhodes did.

County prosecutor Ron Kane had vehemently warned Rhodes that deploying the National Guard could spark conflict and lead to fatalities. Nonetheless, Rhodes – who was trailing in an impending Republican primary for a U.S. Senate seat – struck the pose of a take-charge leader who wasn’t going to be pushed around by a long-haired rabble.

“We’re going to put a stop to this!” he shouted, pounding the table at a press conference in Kent on May 3. Many National Guardsmen who were at Kent State on May 4 later questioned why they had been deployed there.

“Loaded rifles and fixed bayonets are pretty harsh solutions for students exercising free speech on an American campus,” one of them told an oral history interviewer. Another plaintively asked me in a 2023 interview, “Why would you put soldiers trained to kill on a university campus to serve a police function?” https://www.civilbeat.org/2024/08/the-1970-kent-state-shootings-show-the-danger-of-deploying-troops-to-crush-protests/

Our national treasure our system of Justice is in tatters, Trump burned it all down, it is in ashes. AND The Supreme Court has helped him every step of the way. Remember Judge Alien Cannon? Corrupt AF. And becasue of the election there was no going to an appeals court to correct a lower district judge, it all got cut off. Trump literally beat the system with the corrupt Judge Alien Cannon. That one judge, she removed any obstacles to Trump successfully running for President. All the guilty GOT OFF. Justice DIDN'T work.

I suspect Trump has special animus towards Bolton because Boltan was one of Trump's hand-chosen insiders who knows Trump so well, whose scathing criticisms Trump can't easily dismiss and, worse for Trump, Bolton remains fairly well respected in Conservative foreign policy circles. So, Trump's special animus towards Bolton falls into the category of Ayatollah Khomeini's fatwa against Salman Rushdie, more feared because Rushdie was a Muslim with insights into and respect from the Muslim community that non-Muslim critics of Islam could not bring to bear. Trump fears, more than almost anything, truth he can't easily cover over with lies.
