This is not surprising because these men consider themselves able to do as they please, having been told they could do so. Trump doesn't care how they are treated; he just wants them gone. You are correct. If a substantial amount of Americans started contacting both their congress rep and Senators, and specifically requesting impeachment, this could potentially end very quickly. Keep in mind, it would have to be a good chunk of the population. The prospect of losing their seats is the only consequence they understand. Unfortunately, most folks are not even aware they have that option.

Can't see much help for the Constitutional Republic from Congress. The only other tool we have it seems is elections. Trump knows it. We are petty confident we can get the votes, but can we beat the lies, propaganda and cheating? Focus must be on the upcoming elections and Trumps team of cheaters.

9. Encourage or condone violence to advance political goals: Dehumanize opposition and/or out-groups to justify violence against them.
10. Organize mass rallies to keep supporters mobilized against made-up threats: Use fearmongering and hate speech to consolidate in-group identity and solidarity.
11. Make people feel like they are powerless to change things: Solutions will only come from the top.
What can we do to push back against authoritarianism?
• Educate publics about how authoritarianism works; demystify its allure; and shine a spotlight on tried-and-true methods of countering hate, violence, and authoritarianism.
• Form large, diverse, cross-partisan and cross-ideological pro-democracy fronts or movements with a shared vision; strategy; and clear, concrete demands.
• Build the capacity of pro-democracy coalitions and movements to manage constructive tensions, center relationships, and prioritize larger collective goals.
• Train pro-democracy coalitions and movements in nonviolent discipline and violence de-escalation in the face of authoritarian violence.
• Invest in opportunities for inter- and intra-group dialogue connected to collective action to break down assumptions, develop empathy and understanding, and build trust at the grassroots by working together to combat authoritarian practices.
• Diversify the range of nonviolent tactics to include methods of concentration (protests, rallies, sit-ins), and methods of dispersion (walkouts, stay-aways, consumer boycott, labor strikes); not doing what authoritarians expect and want.
• Engage members of key organizational “pillars” like religious institutions, business groups, unions, professional associations, bureaucracies, media institutions, and security forces in pro-democracy mobilization.
• Provide pathways for individuals within key pillars that morally or materially support the authoritarian system to join the pro-democracy cause.

My heart rejoices when I see the thousands of protesters all around the country, people marching and protesting against ICE and the murder of an innocent woman in Minnesota. Can't see much help for the Constitutional Republic from Congress. The only other tool we have it seems is elections. Trump knows it. We are petty confident we can get the votes, but can we beat the lies, propaganda and cheating? Focus must be on the upcoming elections and Trumps team of cheaters.
My concern also is AI. I firmly believe Musk had his dirty hands in the last election, as agent orange made no secret of thanking him for his 'help', wink wink. How can we know what forces may be at work to tamper with the midterms?

Trump Lies all the time. Trump Cheats at everything. Trump never met a contract, an oath, a deal, a law, a treaty, the Constitution he was not willing to break, violate, ignore. Trump never met an honest man, to him they are all either suckers, fools, idiots or are actually 'cheaters' like himself.
Elections are just another thing to steal, to con, to cheat. What makes his motivation so manic is his fear of impeachment, of no longer being POTUS and thereby subject to the trials his election interrupted.
Trump and his military cronies have plans to divert attention with the use of wars,agitators,agitator, possibly just scooping up protesters to publicly shame and threaten.
