Michael Wolffe has said that it's usually the last person he talked to that influences him the most. So since he's impressed by other important people, perhaps that's true, because in his mind the last important person he met was MBS, which would explain his friendliness with Mamdani.

I'm hoping his successes will help the democratic party recognize that their centrist, corporate sponsored messaging is outdated and that progressive policies excite voters, especially the working class voters who have seen their economic futures stagnate while the corporate wealthy grow greedier and more powerful.
People need to feel hope, not necessarily excitement, for their lives. He estimates this tax will generate the money necessary to fund his agenda, so the corporations and wealthiest residents will pay this not the general public. NYC residents pay a personal tax to the city in addition to state and federal taxes.
