My main point is that until Trump, for close to a century, the industry and government have always stressed how safe flying was. For example, they had stats that you are more likely to be killed on your way to the airport than in the air.

No decisions have been made for troops to enter the country, according to two defense officials who confirmed the planned deployment. But the buildup of troops is a drastic escalation in the U.S-Israel war against the Iranian regime.

I don't think so. I followed the first reports pretty well. There was a lot of speculation that a lone controller was overwhelmed dealing with incoming flights, departing flights and vehicles responding to an on-airport emergency. Nobody seemed to know whether the tower was understaffed. There was also discussion about the controller (again referring to a solo) having to use two different radio frequencies when talking to the truck or planes. But Trump is quick to blame folks. My main point is that until Trump, for close to a century, the industry and government have always stressed how safe flying was. For example, they had stats that you are more likely to be killed on your way to the airport than in the air.
But for the President to say, "It's a dangerous business" should outrage everyone.
When listening to the transponder within the last 10 seconds there are 2 different voices heard giving instructions. One gave clearances to the plane and a second voice gave clearance to the fire truck. After another 3 seconds the tower relayed to the truck to stop. The truck didn’t receive that message and continued.

His comment about it being a dangerous business sure indicates the pilots were his target. ATC employees are not known to be doing dangerous work. I don't think there has ever been a controller killed doing his/her job. In any event, I just want to stress the inappropriate thing that Trump said about flying being dangerous. If any aviation employee said publicly or posted anything like that, they'd be fired on the spot.

there's actually a very good reason that Iran is getting better penetration from their missiles. in the beginning they used all their oldest least accurate missiles to deplete the interceptors. so the oldest the 20-year-old missiles is what they threw out at first now they throw out drones and then some of their much faster hypersonic missiles that the interceptors have a hard time with.
The newer missiles also can outmaneuver Patriot, Iron Dome, and THAAD interceptors.
