The End Around: More Bad News for the Orange Cheeto

Cheeto has evaded public scrutiny over his sordid sexual predatory behavior for years First the Access Hollywood tapes, then the E Jean Carroll rape civil settlement, then the conviction in the Stormy Daniels escapade, but even his MAGA base can’t stomach the perverse pedophilia story hidden in the Epstein files In March the FBI was tasked to see how much Cheeto was mentioned in the files and with so many mentions, Cheeto decided to shut down the release of the files But then with the fallout with his compadre, Musk dropped the bomb that instigated the attention of MAGA about Cheeto’s involvement

On MSNBC last night O’Donnell interviewed Bradley Edwards primary attorney for the Epstein victims Edwards detailed how his clients have never been given due consideration by DOJ in their desire to have the files exposed to the public

Rep Ro Khanna, one of the lead Representatives in the subpoena of the files by the Congressional Oversight Committee, said in a later interview that the committee would like to hear from Edwards representing the Epstein victims Edwards also expressed that there is a lot of discovery information that between his office and the defense attorneys for Epstein a lot of information could be released without even having the DOJ release the files that they have

It appears that the public doesn’t need a distrustworthy DOJ led by the Orange Cheeto Congress can just subpoena the already existing records from the involved attorneys in the Epstein case

There are also a number of things that could be had without subpoena or hassle directly from the estate of epstein. Such as the bound "birthday book". It belongs to the estate.

This is the kind of timeline stitching that helps us keep our collective sanity intact. Because if we follow just one drip at a time, we lose the plot but when you zoom out, like you did here, the outline of the cover-up becomes glaring.

I’ve been watching how Trump’s emotional swings align almost perfectly with these legal inflection points. When E. Jean Carroll won in court? Trump ranted about “witch hunts.” When the Epstein file subpoena passed 8-2? He suddenly floated the idea that he wanted them released all along. It’s classic abuser behavior: control the frame, rewrite the past, accuse others of doing what you’re doing.

Thank you for naming that this isn’t just a legal issue…it’s a narrative war. And right now, truth is getting drowned in a flood of lies and distractions.

I’ve been writing a series on how media complicity helps keep this flood flowing especially when outlets avoid calling this what it is. If you or anyone reading this wants to go a little deeper into that lens, my profile’s got some receipts. Quietly chilling in the corner like a librarian with locked files.

Great point to subpoena Edwards, the attorney for the victims, & get their discovery materials. OS sub committee will subpoena all of Epstein file. However, GOP would only agree if they subpoenaed Comey, Clintons, Eric Holder,Barr, Mueller , Merrick Garland & others. Democrats should ask for these materials to be subpoenaed. Here's what happened during Blanche deposition of Maxwell July 24. OSC will depose her Aug 11.

Promising to release the Epstein files helped him get elected. Now maybe it will help him go to jail. I'd rather see him burn in hell but I'll settle with seeing him behind bars. No one really knows what's going to happen. They call him Teflon Don for a reason. I hope this one sticks and he is held accountable for participating in the Epstein pedophile ring. He's such a disgusting human being.

Unfortunately, I agree. He has been a criminal for so long that regardless of all the stupid stuff he says, he is extremely savvy about “ handling it “ up to and including sending Todd Blanche to “talk to” Ghislane Maxwell. He learned all the creepy tricks of the trade from his mentor Roy Cohn. I really think he gets a big ego boost out of incriminating himself with what he says, and then slithering out of the legal repercussions.

Epstein ‘birthday book’: Victims’ lawyer calls on Congress to subpoena estate; The Hill, July 24, 2025; https://thehill.com/regulation/court-battles/5417828-trump-letter-epstein-victims/

"A lawyer for more than 200 of Jeffrey Epstein’s victims called on Congress to subpoena his estate for the “birthday book” that allegedly includes provocative letters from his high-profile associates. Attorney Bradley Edwards said in a Wednesday interview on MSNBC’s “The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell” that the Epstein estate possesses the 2003 “birthday book.” He said he has “numerous” clients who can confirm the book’s authenticity and said he suspects the executors of Epstein’s estate would be willing to turn over the book if they were asked to do so. “If they didn’t just voluntarily turn over the book, out of fear of reprisal, Congress could issue a subpoena to their attorneys,” Edwards said. “I know the executors’ lawyers. I worked with them for years. They’re good people. They’re good lawyers. They would comply with a subpoena immediately,” Edwards added. “We could solve this problem so quickly, if people actually want to solve problems.” Edwards said doing so would provide answers quickly and give the victims some closure. “Nobody would have to guess. There wouldn’t need to be a lawsuit. There wouldn’t have to wait to be discovery. You would immediately have the answers. You could flip to the page: Is there a letter? Is there not a letter? It’s over. The victims then get to move on.” Edwards said he expects the birthday book would provide answers to many questions about Epstein, including, “Who were Jeffrey Epstein’s best friends at the time? What letters did his family write to him? What other pictures were in there? Things of that nature.” “Redact victim names, release the book and move on,” Edwards said. Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) joined the MSNBC program shortly after Edwards’s interview and said he didn’t know the book was in the estate’s possession and indicated he plans to move forward with issuing a subpoena."

The birthday book would be a good start, but it’s not enough to prove who sexually abused children.

Alternatively, as others have pointed out, we could just believe the victims.

Efforts to breathe life into it continue, but why did it not pass easily and quickly?

Originally, the ERA, which Congress passed in 1972, had a deadline of 1979. That was eventually bumped out to 1982. But by then, only 35 states had ratified it. https://www.npr.org/2020/01/08/794418122/virginia-may-ratify-the-equal-rights-amendment-what-would-come-next-is-murky. There's a long legal controversy over the ERA. The issue has long been the subject of legal controversy. In 2020, the national archivist — who is charged with making constitutional amendments official — declined to certify the amendment, citing an opinion from the Justice Department's Office of Legal Counsel. The department said it considered the ERA to be expired after a 1982 ratification deadline was missed. In 2022, the Office of Legal Counsel released an opinion affirming that 2020 decision. https://www.npr.org/2025/01/17/nx-s1-5264378/biden-era-national-archivist-constitution. The main text of the Equal Rights Amendment being considered right now is pretty simple: "Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of sex. There are additional sections laying out that Congress is responsible for enforcing the amendment and that it would go into effect two years after its ratification." https://www.npr.org/2020/01/08/794418122/virginia-may-ratify-the-equal-rights-amendment-what-would-come-next-is-murky

Trump also apparently didn't know that Hunter's laptop was in the hands of right wingers for about two years before it was finally turned over to the FBI. By which time much of it was corrupted. And there was nothing there. If there had been, wouldn't the right wingers have released it during those two years? Instead, they preferred to demagogue the issue same as they have with immigration, obstructing reform in order to run on it.

Here's a famous aphorism: "Show me who you run with, and I'll tell you who you are."

He did say "at some time" he would. (maybe that is why Low IQ had him 86.
