Because apparently we had to roll out a red carpet for the war criminal, US soldiers, instead of some lackey staffers, were literally rolling out the carpet. The visual, with Putin’s plane in the background, was literally of them bowing down to Russia as the carpet was being placed. Totally gross. Then Trump literally clapped like an excited toddler as Putin approached him. In the side by side photos, Trump is grinning like the simple-minded out of his depth fool he is, while Putin had a look of bemusement at how weak and pathetic Trump looked. Mind you, while all this was going on and he received a hero’s welcome from our moronic shameful President, Putin was bombing the shit out of Ukraine again…while at a peace summit!
Trump welcomed Putin to an Air Force base in Alaska. After the red carpet—MeidasTouch shows he couldn’t walk straight—he gave Putin a ride in his armored limo. They kicked the press out of their meeting, hosted no presser afterwards, and Trump slunk home with no cease-fire, or any concessions from his puppet master.
And it's US SOLDIERS who were kneeling to put the red carpet in front of Putin. At a US military base that CONSTANTLY needs to fight back against Russian fighter jets breaking the rules and coming into US airspace, only to provoke the US military.
They were kneeling on a territory that Russia in previous times gave to the US.
And then Putin walked up to a waiting Trump... while Trump was APPLAUDING him.
It was all surreal.
Then Trump went on telling the American people that Putin never tried to rig the US elections to get him elected - ONLY US enemy Putin claims this to be true, while America's own best intelligence offices have all objectively proven that this is entirely false.
And with Ukraine not even discussed, imho (but this is me, so not what objectively happened, my subjective interpretation) the only point of the meeting was to see what Putin could do next to rig the 2026 and 2028 elections in his favor (so in the neofascist GOP's favor).
So does drumph actually believe that rolling out the red carpet and shaking hands with Putin in Alaska will now qualify him for the Nobel Peace Prize?

I started watching MTN back during the last midterms when everyone was predicting a “red wave” and you were interviewing, I think it was Simon Rosenberg and Scott Dworkin, maybe? And they were saying otherwise. And they were right. Your channel and reporting gives me real hope.
I have to admit, I often check out from the news now, sometimes for a few days to a week. I know I can catch up with Ron’s daily round ups when I come back. I need to do this to keep sane and prevent depression in order to remain able to fight back. But even when I take those breaks, I’m still fighting back by having conversations with strangers, doing my best to enjoy my life despite the TACO regime, making donations, and going to my local activist groups.
And I know you and your team don’t take those breaks. So I really want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for the sacrifices you make and the strength and resilience you show. And a really big thank you to your families for sharing you with us.
