Very Important Message from MeidasTouch Founder!
Hey everybody, it’s Ben.
As you know, this is my favorite post of the week, my Sunday coffee post, where I get to spend a little time with you, drink some coffee, and just talk about everything going on. Whether you drink coffee, tea, water, or anything else, fill your cup and come join me.
Alright… let’s get into it.
We’re still stuck in what I’ve been calling the two-week Trump “death spiral” loop—where he manipulates markets, claims negotiations are happening, says a deal is right around the corner… and then nothing happens. We’re long past the timeline he promised. It’s the same tired playbook, over and over again.
This week alone (although it somehow feels like a year), he went after James Comey again over a photo of seashells. Yes, seriously.
At the same time, there were hearings where tough questioning exposed some very real issues that deserve attention about Hegseth’s war crimes, even if certain outlets try to gloss over them. Hegseth should be tried in The Hague in my opinion.
Then there was the 90-minute call with Putin, which is something we learned more about from Russian media than from our own. The White House has still not released a readout of the call. That tells you a whole lot. But we do know, right after, Trump ordered thousands of U.S. troops pulled from Germany, something on Putin’s wish list. And more and more, the global stage is just… moving on And that’s a reflection of weakness, whether people want to admit it or not.
I’m sitting here with my coffee thinking about how predictable this all is and how the pattern never really changes.
Meanwhile, it’s been a huge week for MeidasTouch.
Katie Phang made major headlines pushing for transparency around the Epstein files in court—and also celebrated one year in independent media, which is incredible. Congrats on one year, Katie!!! Scott MacFarlane and our D.C. team continue to dominate coverage on Capitol Hill, breaking stories and clips that are going viral everywhere.
Adam Mockler went on CNN and exposed how fragile some of these MAGA pundits like Scott Jennings really are when they’re actually challenged with facts. And you’re seeing it more and more—they’re not used to being pushed back on.
We’re also seeing the attacks ramp up. Trump himself is going after our interviews. Fox is going after us. Eric Trump is threatening lawsuits over our reporting that’s grounded in facts.
That’s not a coincidence. That’s what happens when you’re effective.
As I take another moment with my coffee I just think about how different this moment feels. Look, this moment we’re in right now is different. The old playbook of intimidation, misinformation, and unchecked narratives—it’s not working the same way anymore for MAGA. Because people are fighting back. Because you are fighting back.
That’s what this network is about.
We bring receipts. We stay aggressive. We don’t back down. And we’re just getting started.
So if you’re here, if you’re reading this, if you’ve been supporting—whether by sharing, subscribing, or just showing up—you’re part of this. And I’m incredibly grateful for that.
Let’s keep building. Let’s keep growing. Let’s keep fighting.
As I finish my coffee here l, I am thinking about how far we’ve come—and how much more we’re going to do together.
Alright… I’m done with the coffee.
Become a paid subscriber if you can. It helps us keep doing this work and expanding what we’re building together.
Thanks for being here. Let’s keep going.

Thank you Ben 💙
One thing I’ve found fascinating about following politics is the staggering levels of corruption I never knew existed and how the oligarchs and Washington politicians give us just enough scraps to give a damn about anything, while making sure 1/3 of the country doesn’t vote out of apathy. Voting rights are restricted and the last president won because if misinformation. Lets won’t get screwed again!
