Going all the way back to early 2023, Trump said in interview after interview that he would “end the war in Ukraine in 24 hours” if he was president. He then put out a formal policy video during the 2023 Republican primary where he said that Biden was needlessly allowing people to be slaughtered in Ukraine, and it was a tragedy because if he was president he would have the conflict resolved in 24 hours.

Trump said, “it wouldn’t even be tough” to get it resolved in 24 hours. He even said “it wouldn’t even take me that long” in an interview with Fox’s Maria Baritromo. He then repeated the line hundreds of times in interviews and rally speeches - that he would end it easily in 24 hours and Biden was too incompetent to get it done.

So, what happened Donnie? He had a lot to say to the press yesterday about a lot of things. Issued lots of executive orders. But not one word about Ukraine. His special envoy in Ukraine is backtracking now, saying that he is setting “a goal to have it resolved in 100 days.” His Secretary of State Marco Rubio said today that Trump just meant he wanted it to end as soon as possible.

That’s not what he said.

Trump said that HE would end it in 24 hours because he “knows all the players, I know them well …” And because he has superior negotiating skills: “I’d get them both in the room, and I know just what to say to each of them, and they won’t like some of what I have to say, but that’s too bad.”

President Zelensky publicly called on Trump repeatedly to tell him and the rest of the world what his secret plan was to end the war immediately. But Trump refused to say.

So why is warmonger Trump allowing the senseless killing to continue when he knows how to end it so easily?
