As Kamala Harris pointed out, this is NOT about Trump, it's the execution of a detailed GOP plan that has been decades in the making.

The GOP has become a neofascist party. That's just a fact. After Trump is gone, another neofascist will replace him.

Time to get real!

Time To Organize Against Cheeto and His Nazi Allies

The upcoming Oct 18 No Kings protest is a rallying point around which we can consolidate our voices in dissent of what Cheeto and his Nazi party are trying to do to our government

But as important is to develop a long term strategy for our movement As Marc Elias writes in Democracy Docket(https://bit.ly/4n0Qj1J) there needs to be a long range plan that requires organizing around a set of strategies that ensure the takedown of this radical right wing fascist movement that we have come to know as MAGA which by the way has been in the works for at least 2 decades This is not just about 2026 but there and beyond 2028, 2030, 2032 Apathy doesn’t win

As Elias points out we need to organize for the long term around the protection of voting rights, supporting each other with conviction and energy, and being proactive not reactive So much of what is termed journalism is merely a reporting of what has happened in the day While that’s valuable we need to go on the offensive with a plan to attack MAGA Sadly the DNC is woefully behind the power curve and it’s up to all of us to show up WE the People show up and lead the way but that’s how it should always be

Peaceful resistance worked in India and gave them freedom for England It worked in the 1960's when MLK fashioned his approach after Mahatma Ghandhi's work in India When violence is invoked it will give Cheeto and his Nazi allies an excuse to bring the full brunt of the military on the civilian population by invokeing the Insurrection Act

Peaceful is all the Dems do...it is NOT working. We are not dealing with "normal" enemies here. Their evil is like nothing we have ever seen. Their depth of cruelty is bottomless. I KNOW he is trying to get us to the point where he can invoke Martial law and then we are screwed. So do we sit here and let him? NO we fight. We cannot be like Germany when many stayed silent. There is a strategy but no one dare say it outloud nor should they because you don't show your winning hand. Take em by surprise.

I understand what you're saying; that's been my frustration as well. But we humans can no longer fight violence with violence. It must be peace. We must accept nothing less. We've tried war.

Expand full comment
Dewy's avatar

That only works if both sides are peaceful which is clearly not the case. Think of it this way: a rabid animal is coming to attack you. What makes more sense? Telling it to stop and hoping its brain hasnt melted enough to listen before it bites or taking action to prevent it from biting?

They'll just invoke it anyway through a false flag operation of some sort. Wouldn't surprise me if they plan it for the no kings protest. They want to, its easy to see that. MLK was still killed for fighting for civil rights. Our rights are being stripped away with little challenge if any. If we don't act ASAP we will lose this. The 1960s and the 2020s are two very different decades in terms of circumstances Any dissent is labeled as terrorism so why remain peaceful if they are going to come after us with terrorism charges anyway? At least make your actions worth it.

Expand full comment
Protect the Vote's avatar

Don't think we should invoke violence on the supposition that the Nazis will invoke some form of false pretense One step at a time and decisions are made as we go Agree that the periods are different but human behavior doesn't change over the millenia But if it comes to an outright civil war then so be it

Im not trying to say go into this sort of thing blind. Im hoping that the military steps in, especially after that meeting recently. Some police forces are siding with the people which is amazing and definitely unexpected. We have the numbers, we just need the strength. If the ten million estimated to show up for Saturday's protests would take the time to practice the 2nd amendment and at the least arm themselves so its harder for the regime to threaten us. At that point, they may back off or they'll try to take guns away which the NRA has a firm stance against and even spoke out when Trump debated taking guns from Trans people.

For now I think the inflatable costumes in Portland are working very well. I checked and you can get inflatable items on Amazon for about $40. But not until after no Kings Day. However they could become useful in the future. I would love to see Democrats at the polls making sure people can vote the way they want. I live in CA so we mail in ballots. But certainly watchful eyes could help in other states. This is a first step.

I don't see how you can wage a war against MAGA. There are no borders and for now Democrats have no army. So I don't see how a revolution could take place unless our Military fought against this administration. I doubt that would happen.

Protests don't need a strategy. Protests influence events, and as those events unfold, people establish a strategy thereafter to take advantage for longer term change. Protests are like Ohtani. Him just being in the lineup changes how the opposing manager does things.

The take down of this regime is November 2026. Trump and the Republicans are afraid, in a panic. Nothing for them is going as planned. There are doubts in MAGA-land. Epstein is out there, and it must be really bad for Trump. People are complaining about grocery prices on social media . The whole ICE thing is a bit unsettling, even if you are die-hard MAGA. Trump is going against a lot of American mythology, and that is a foolish thing to do.
