As I was watching the primary results last night I was struck with the thousands upon thousands of voters who were voting for Nazi Republicans who as leader of the CNPP(Christian Nationalist Pedo Party) brazenly corrupts, lies incessantly, shows by his actions he cares little for the American people he serves, and is a threat to the country’s national security.
So not only candidates are aligned with this kind of behavior but have either morally accepted the facts that this is what they stand for as a person or they use a useful tool called denial to rid themselves of guilt of what they represent.
Let’s get this straight. There are candidates and voters who morally align themselves with a political party that stands for outright corruption at the federal/state level, is remarkably racist and bigoted, and is ok with having their taxpayer dollars fleeced to support an illegal war and pay for a ballroom that nobody wants. Perhaps wealthy Republicans don’t care about corruption as long as they can buy expensive homes and take care of their own selfish needs. Screw the country!
How can this be, that a part of our democratic society is so morally depraved? How can it be that part of our democratic society blesses its demise into a feckless dictatorship and willing to throw away their freedoms that for 250y people have died for? This entire mess could have been avoided if Gavin Newsom hadn't vetoed ranked choice voting. If you're going to have an "open" (jungle) primary, it's insane NOT to have ranked choice voting. Yet another reason of many why I am against Newsom for president. He's also vetoed other bipartisan bills, including one requiring data centers to disclose their water usage BEFORE any building permit is granted.

I work for a non-profit involved in medical research. We already lost about half our staff last year due to government not honoring existing grants. Because we are funded by the government we are required to do certain trainings. This is my 1st year (out of 8) that the NIH has not provided an updated Security training. We're just going with the 2025 training again. I'm positive this is an example of staffing shortages & funding cuts. This government doesn't care about anything practical or useful. Many citizens aren't aware of how these government institutions are slowly failing at all levels & the impact this has on companies in all kinds of industries which ultimately impacts the economy. Also, didn't get a raise for the 1st time because of the lack of funding so this inflation is really hurting. Just hope Trump's new rules for approving grants don't go through because I'm half convinced he would just cut all medical research he doesn't understand, which obviously is all of it.

The edema in his legs (ankles and upward), the swollen hands and facial bloating, the edema under his eyes, the lack of energy, most interviews he’s sitting behind the desk in the Oval Office or cabinet room, you rarely see him standing at a podium for long. Along with the mental deterioration and past appearance of having had a slight stroke months ago, with the speech slurring, weakness on the right side, dragging the leg, unable to pronounce words correctly, or finding the proper word, these are all subtle symptoms and changes that medical professionals pickup just by looking at an individual.
His narcissism, bigotry, racism has increased since over a year ago, his usage of cursing in speech is inappropriate for someone in his position.
I wish his physicians were being more honest and upfront with the American people as to his physical and mental status.
What, if any treatment, could they have been giving him?

i hope that when a sane administration returns to power, is that one of the things they do, is they find a way to force fox to stop lying on their broadcast. make them register as a news network, not an entertainment one. The Trump administration is sending ships out in June to physically remove more than 900 deep-sea instruments from the Atlantic and Pacific oceans that monitor things like ocean acidity and temperature — dismantling a $368 million monitoring network that took a decade to build and was designed to operate for 25 years.
It will be gone in 15 months.
The Ocean Observatories Initiative is not redundant government bloat. It is the world's most advanced continuously operating ocean observation system — monitoring greenhouse gas absorption, marine heat waves, commercial fisheries, coastal flooding along the East Coast, and most critically, the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Current, the massive global conveyor belt of water that some scientists fear is weakening due to climate change. A collapse of that current would trigger severe weather catastrophes across multiple continents.
The instruments measuring that current are anchored 9,200 feet below the surface of the Irminger Sea, between Greenland and Iceland, as part of an international scientific collaboration. They are now being pulled out of the water.
The Trump administration tried to cut the network's funding by 80 percent — twice. Congress restored the money both times. So, the administration is simply dismantling it anyway.
The annual operating cost was $48 million. That's less than four days of the Iran war. It's a rounding error on the $1.776 billion slush fund Trump created for his January 6th allies. It's less than half what Trump is spending to gold-plate four horse statues near the Lincoln Memorial.
"By dismantling such a system, we push the United States back yet again into a rear seat in global scientific leadership," said Craig McLean, former acting chief scientist at NOAA.
Scientists warn that decades of institutional knowledge and engineering expertise will be lost — the kind that can't be reconstructed from notes. Commercial fishing industries along the Pacific Northwest and East Coast will lose critical data. Coastal communities will lose flood prediction tools. The entire planet will lose visibility into one of the most consequential ocean systems on Earth.
The National Science Foundation called this decision "nimbler prioritization."

I work for a non-profit involved in medical research. We already lost about half our staff last year due to government not honoring existing grants. Because we are funded by the government we are required to do certain trainings. This is my 1st year (out of 8) that the NIH has not provided an updated Security training. We're just going with the 2025 training again. I'm positive this is an example of staffing shortages & funding cuts. This government doesn't care about anything practical or useful. Many citizens aren't aware of how these government institutions are slowly failing at all levels & the impact this has on companies in all kinds of industries which ultimately impacts the economy. Also, didn't get a raise for the 1st time because of the lack of funding so this inflation is really hurting. Just hope Trump's new rules for approving grants don't go through because I'm half convinced he would just cut all medical research he doesn't understand, which obviously is all of it.
