I agree with you. Instead of everyone on Labor day all through the States, we all meet in Washington, DC. That is what I say and we can approach 50501 and those movements to do that.
For example, Social Security Works is planning protests at Social Security offices when this entire LOOTING OF AMERICA is all part of the same thing - the FASCIST takeover of America and elimination of DEMOCRACY. People are getting PROTEST FATIGUE and these piecemeal protests are not going to have much of an effect. We need one HUGE, GINORMOUS SWARM that they cannot ignore. We MUST SHOW OUR POWER. While that would be wonderful, thousands, maybe millions of us simply cannot afford to go to DC, even IF transportation is provided. Many of us have health issues that prevent us from going, and even with transportation there probably would be other costs like lodging and meals (which of course could also be provided through volunteer donations) I would love to see a huge demonstration and I especially would love to see a Listen to the Women movement. I worked in the area of sexual assault of children and women for 35 years in various ways and I would love to see millions of folks stand up for the protection of women and girls (and include boys in the mix..they suffer the same or worse shame, degradation and humiliation as girls do when they are sexually abused). I would love to see a nation wide cadre of women and men who would go into every single church and talk to each congregation about sex abuse of children (and adults) and be assertive enough to say and you know, you have elected officials who support this abuse, and by remaining quiet, by not believing victims you too support the abuse. What do you think Jesus would say to your face knowing you support sex abuse of children? I am so tired of everyone getting off the hook for lifting up predators and shaming victims.
I see what you are saying and I must agree after thinking about it last night. However, I think if as many people as can they should head to Washington for every rally in the future. For me it's a 7 hour drive. I have given up asking my son to join me. He has become complacent and has every excuse under the sun not to go. My daughter is a nurse and her schedule is erratic. She would love to come but she needs her job. I don't know enough people in Buffalo that I could carpool with but I would head there on my own.
I belong to the League of Women Voters and I volunteer at my church. I will check with LWV to see if they are going to Washington for the Labor Day rally.

I see what you are saying and I must agree after thinking about it last night. However, I think if as many people as can they should head to Washington for every rally in the future. For me it's a 7 hour drive. I have given up asking my son to join me. He has become complacent and has every excuse under the sun not to go. My daughter is a nurse and her schedule is erratic. She would love to come but she needs her job. I don't know enough people in Buffalo that I could carpool with but I would head there on my own.
I belong to the League of Women Voters and I volunteer at my church. I will check with LWV to see if they are going to Washington for the Labor Day rally.

I disagree with what Whitmer is doing. It's a tactic that allows trump to play states against each other to see who can give the biggest kiss to his big white butt. She is compromising herself and has lost the ability to criticize anything he does for fear of losing whatever he grants her for being a member of his court.
