Isn't that enough of a reason to disqualify him from the Presidentcy?

Edward Neilsen's avatar

I'm sure there's no criminality attached to the law. It's up to Congress. Mainly the Senate refusing to confirm anyone who has not been vetted by the FBI is the only way I can see of forcing anything. Do not see that happening in the Republican controlled Senate.

Vicki Ballou's avatar

Well, write or call your senators daily. They need to know we are watching. Just do it.

Get Er Done's avatar

Yep. I wrote mine last week

Rakesh Malik's avatar

Typical idiot democraps... pass laws, refuse to enforce them, and whine when the criminals ignore them because they never face any accountability for any of their crimes.

Vicki Ballou's avatar

This was passed with bipartisan support. Go to X with your name-calling and lack of info. They enjoy it there.

Jim Harvey's avatar

Another MAGA STAR are we???? You probably get your information from a cereal box

Sandra Nicht's avatar

and I just reported him too

Fuzza Majumula's avatar

Ditto. Don't know how much good it will do, though. He did get in here somehow. I thought there was a vetting process.

Jami Lee's avatar

The law was passed bipartisanly. It is the responsibility of ALL elected officials to uphold the law. Typical idiot comment blaming Democrats for not upholding laws that are the responsibility of both parties.

Laurie Flamino's avatar

The idiots are the people who voted trump back in office. They will soon see their folly and probably still blame democrats.

Seems you are one of the idiots. You can’t fix stupid.

Jami Lee's avatar

I certainly did NOT vote for the Deranged Sweet Potato. I also don't accuse people of taking actions with no evidence. Seems the MAGA mindset is not limited to MAGA.

Laurie Flamino's avatar

Sorry Jami

That comment was not directed at you but at Rakesh Malik. I agree wholeheartedly with your comment. Upholding the law is most certainly the responsibility of both parties.

Bonnie Price's avatar

Ya as if any republican obeyed any laws or rules any way !! Except even the republicans are voting with the Democrats on any of trumps very poor choices ! His only plan is to destroy, like Putin asked him to do !!!

He owns him. Except his usefulness is coming to a close as a pawn .. his drug addictions are wrecking his body.

The senior Republicans are fighting back ..some of them !

Fuzza Majumula's avatar

Huh...I guess we'll see. I have no confidence in anyone with an R next to their name.

Rena's avatar

Wow. So bipartisan passed law, Trump refuses to obey it, and it's the Dems' fault. Interesting.

Fuzza Majumula's avatar

Not only was it done with bipartisan support, it was done 61 years ago. Most of those who were involved are now dead.

Lindsay Hoyer Millar's avatar

Much as I dislike your sneering tone, I think you have a point. Come on Democrats, show some soune

Calvan North's avatar

Democracy depends on the willingness of the population to support its laws. If he wasn't a traitor, the situation would not have arisen.

Rena's avatar

And if the Senate grew a spine and refused to confirm people, I see Trump just singlehandedly "appointing them" via the magic mind meld he used to declassify the classified documents in his bathroom - and just name them as "acting" secretaries of whatever. He sort of did that last time when he couldn't get folks cleared.

David Meyers's avatar

Though the Republicans control the Senate, it may be a legal requirement for anyone expected to hold the office of presidency to do, and not an option that can be treated lightly, mainly for security reasons. Did Trump sign the first time he took office?

Loretta Hollier's avatar

True. No he did not sign the first round.

Michael Hardy's avatar

Lol that is so yesterday...

Pam Schalow's avatar

Also, when the dumbshit is sworn in as President with his hand on the Bible, swearing to uphold the Constitution, you know he is lying; that is perjury and treason, punishable by either 2, 3, or 4 years in prison. I looked it up on a Gov.org website

Sheila's avatar

They should not be allowed to take office!

Sheila's avatar

Please write to Biden and or Harris! I did.

https://www.whitehouse.gov/contact/

Pattie Abee Jenkins's avatar

I did! Thanks for posting the link.

daniel lessard's avatar

just did, thank you for the info

Loretta Hollier's avatar

Thank you for the link much appreciated

Sheila's avatar

You’re very welcome!

Get Er Done's avatar

Thanks for sharing this link. I just wrote in as well.

Sheila's avatar

A recount for one. Take an executive action because he hasn’t signed the documents allowing them to gain access to classified information, he hasn’t disclosed his taxes or any health records. He’s a threat to our safety and they have an oath to protect us from threats to our safety etc.

Rakesh Malik's avatar

In other words: we just need Biden to do his job.

Enforcing laws is the purview of the executive branch.

Biden's administration has been extremely soft on justice. But he's a pathetic coward, so he won't do anything because of his idiotic focus on norms and traditions that have become completely meaningless thanks to democraps' long history of cowardly complicity with the criminals.

Lights Seiferlein's avatar

Instead of protecting us and the Constitution, he's mouthing platitudes about "the peaceful transfer of power". As if this is just business as usual.

Cynthia S Swingle's avatar

Please watch Tom Hartman's podcast Titled "Data Scientist shocking call for a recount". This podcast in informative and logical. Please watch and pass around ,let's get the word out. I will personally call Kamala to tell her she must allow this professional to do the recount, if only in the swing states. Thank you.

Velia Salazar's avatar

We can not let this so called man in the highest level of Government. He has to be treated like a little boy.

Pamela Musa's avatar

That's right because he IS a little boy [emotionally ETC.]

Lights Seiferlein's avatar

He's got the emotional maturity of a toddler (sorry, actual toddlers).

Pops's avatar

They can make it public! The Democrats seem to have communication problems.

Medias should not be the ONLY source of this information.

People need to know!

EmM's avatar

Is that a possibility -- to keep Trump out of the WH / not inaugurating him?

Sheila's avatar

I asked them to do a recount, that’s the only thing I think that can change the outcome.

Laurie Tx's avatar

If he’s supposed to sign 6 months before swearing in then just postpone his inauguration to 6 months after he signs it. Simple 🤷🏻‍♀️

Rakesh Malik's avatar

I.e. enforce the damned law.

Fuzza Majumula's avatar

He's supposed to sign 6 months before the election.

Michelle's avatar

Apparently only applies to everyone else. Ugh!!!

Susie Mitchell's avatar

If he doesn’t follow the law how can he be seated? The Hatch Act and the Logan act were flouted MANY times but there was never any mechanism for punishment….. seem to me if he doesn’t do these things he shouldn’t be allowed to take office…

Rakesh Malik's avatar

Legally he can't take office anyway.

Rose A's avatar

My sentiments exactly.

Stay Faithful's avatar

WHY ISN’T THIS DISQUALIFYING?

Annie Moore's avatar

Sounds right for this administration. Why would Trump ever do anything that’s required. No taxes, no medical report & no required security of staff.

Mary Sundberg's avatar

The best part of donald trump ran down his mother's leg. And I'm not the only one who says that.

Cyndi Wellborn's avatar

I've said Trump was the antichrist from day 2 and while I don't profess to be a Christian I have read their book. My husband, the Lutheran, agrees with me.

James Bush's avatar

OMG 😯😯 You made my day .🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Lights Seiferlein's avatar

His father should have followed the advice of antiwar activists: pull out NOW!

Larry Erkins's avatar

🤣🤣🤣🤣👏👏

Diane Lee's avatar

Perfect!!! 🤣😆 Love it! So true.

Do Dion's avatar

Anyway... he belongs in prison, not the White House.

Shelly Petts's avatar

If he doesn't sign those, he shouldn't be allowed to take office. If I get a job and they ask me to do paperwork I don't get a job until I do

An Embarrassed American's avatar

True. But…

If you’re a rapist, you go to jail

If you commit fraud, you go to jail

If you incite an insurrection, you go to jail

If you steal government top secret documents, you go to jail

If you share government top secret information with adversaries, you go to jail

Not Trump. Rules and laws only apply to us.

David's avatar

Not if you're a "rapist" of someone with no actual proof and can't even remember the year it happened.

Oh but the accuser was a woman so that makes the man guilty until proven innocent.

And p.s. that was a civil case not criminal.

Santos Chavez's avatar

You're right, that's usually part of the on-boarding process, signing agreements, agreeing to company rules and policy, etc. You don't sign, you don't get the job. It should be the same standard for the presidency at least if not higher, but alas...

Patricia's avatar

He has a plan. We are being set up

Patricia's avatar

Trump had four years of planning. He is using Hungary’s playbook to steal power. It’s all a set up. I wouldn’t have put it past them to rig the voting.

Larry Erkins's avatar

I STILL feel that the votes were rigged. When has Trump EVER been popular? He walked around spouting gibberish and acting out of it far more this time than the first time he ran and he wasn't even popular then. He was always between 30 to 45 % in the approval ratings and that was strictly his base. NOW, with all of his convictions and going up against Biden who saved our economy and Harris who had so much more to offer us, was far more intelligent, knew the law and economics AND was actually popular, they expect us to believe such a massive loss wasn't somehow rigged?!

Elon Musk has been stuck to him like glue lately. Maybe he did something to help Trump win in such a huge way that his win wouldn't be questioned. Maybe Musk is now looking for his quid pro quo.

Lights Seiferlein's avatar

I can feel it in my bones that they rigged it. But Biden is doing nothing.

Pat Kahn's avatar

Frank Figliuzzi wrote about this recently- I recommend his article. He says President Biden can order these backgrounds checks himself under the authority of the current MOU (memo of understanding). See https://frankfigliuzzi.com/biden-should-order-background-checks-of-trumps-cabinet-picks/

Lynn's avatar

Then Biden damn well should! And while he’s at it, pardon Hunter.

If TFG can do it, the Biden should do it. There are no norms, no playing by the rules with these MAGAs.

Diane Lee's avatar

Lynn, yes!! He should pardon Hunter!! Too bad if people don't like it, what are they going to do??? Nothing! Pardon your son Joe!!!!!

Larry Erkins's avatar

Exactly 💯 👏👏👏👏 I have been saying the same thing for months now!!

Carrie Deitzel's avatar

So, we should flood the WH with demands they take action!!

Sheila's avatar

I shared a link to contact them. I’ve written to both Biden and Harris, everyone needs to get involved!

Teri's avatar

This is not legal! Our judicial system has been far too lenient with Trump already and if this is allowed I'll feel sure that we have no judicial system, at least as it applies to the worst offenders who are free to endanger our country and its citizens which others are punished for things far less serious.

Matthew Scherer's avatar

I believe President Biden would be on solid legal ground if he ordered background checks on Trump's nominees based on keeping the United States safe from enemies both foreign and domestic -

Steve Forman's avatar

It would absolutely be considered an official act and would be covered under the recently SCOTUS issued immunity clause.

CARLA HEISTEN's avatar

A plan to do nefarious things would be the ONLY reason to not sign. How simple is that to understand, right?

So, we also know mainstream media won't cover any of his shenanigans...only how we block them if we can.

MEDIA is the key. TRUTH is the key.

Mel Brooks...springtime for Hit-ler...cute song.

MPT's avatar

Joe should stop playing nice with the elected criminal in thief. Joe has immunity and can just say that since trump and his thugs are not following the law that he will not turn over power to him. Why don't dems ever play hardball? Do something that the trump thugs don't expect and have the FBI do background checks regardless. Who is the boss for the next 2 months? Dems need to fight like gofs or get eaten by them.

Diane Lee's avatar

MPT, 💯🎯..... exactly!! I've been saying for years, the Democrats need to play hardball damnit!!!! This is the critical point in time where the gloves MUST come off! No more "show a good example" bullshit, fight fire WITH fire! Beat those mofo's at their own game. 🤬

MPT's avatar

Umfortuately, dems play patty cake and republicans play gladiator.

Rob's avatar

Can’t breach an Agreement if you don’t sign it.

Tee's avatar

If they refuse to sign those documents then they should never be allowed anywhere near the White House. Trump should not be getting any briefings of any kind because we know he can't keep his mouth shut. Somebody has to stand up and make this man toe the line for once before he takes office and ruins everything and destroys this country. Please would somebody with a backbone stand up to him

Carrie Deitzel's avatar

These comments need to be made to the WH. Nobody here has any authority to act.

Tee's avatar

I get that. I'm allowed to vent too you know?
