Welcome, Maura and Rebecca to the VALOR Media Network and Meidas Defense family!

We have a Hellcat here in the Hudson Valley who just won her primary to unseat Lyin MAGA Lawler—who was gerrymandered in two cycles ago as a moderate who has supported every MAGA initiative, lies incessantly—remind you of anyone and needs to be replaced. Cate Conley! West Point Grad, 16 years and several deployments in the military. An outstanding career and individual. Go Cate

That's awesome! Go HellCats!

Seems kind of absurd to label a person "who has supported every MAGA initiative, lies incessantly" as a "moderate". If everyone in a group is a liar, for instance, just because some lie in only half their sentences whereas the rest lie in at least two out over every three sentences, does not change the fact that they are ALL liars.

LisaLP's avatar

I think the point is her lying calling herself a moderate to get herself elected. At least that’s how I read it

Douglas Gilligan's avatar

Quite likely, I just get 'triggered' by the common courtesy of letting people label themselves, and the standards, the goal-posts keep getting moved so that the liars can get away with more. Certainly not the intent of Rich to let her get away with anything, I just see too much of Republicans claiming to be moderates then voting the MAGA party line, then 'whining in private' how they are forced into it.

Thank you ladies 💪💙

I read an article years ago that said women are actually fierce on the battlefield because their mother instinct kicks in you don’t mess with mama bear. They take care of their guys.

Douglas Gilligan's avatar

We are all human, and while women have some 'hardwiring' a bit different from most men, does not mean they have no control over their emotions, or feel any emotions less than others, nor does it mean they have no resolve or dedication.

Had a wife, have a daughter, each with incredible strengths, and personal challenges, just like EVERY person I have ever known. While our strengths and weaknesses may be different, from person to person, we all have them, and for a given person who has learned to leverage their strengths and has found their motivation, incredible things can happen.

As a side note, the Russians had women fighting on the battlefield in WW2 and have always had highly acclaimed scientists & aero engineers in their space programs.

What badass women!

Today for me has been mostly Katie Phang, from before breakfast to halfway through the afternoon. And then I slipped into this post, glad to be here. Today, I'm feeling gainfully surrounded by and enthusiastically invited into additional directions of valor. Good on all three of you!! I hear you, Hellcats and Katie! Thank you. Persevere.

The Nazi Republicans: The Rise of Racist Christian Nationalism

Nazi Republicans know what their marching orders are: follow Cheeto’s voter suppression and interference. They are counting on the midterms will be rigged. Every Nazi Republican racist policy that comes from SCOTUS, Cheeto and his WH goons, or those in the legislature is driven by white Christian Nationalism, animated by Project 2025. The Nazi Republican plan seeks to disenfranchise 66% of the electorate.

WE the People demand more of the Democratic party and the Democratic Socialist movement within the party recognize the danger facing the country while the Democratic establishment continue to want business as usual, hoping this too will pass, hoping that they get a nice pat on the head from Nazi Republicans.

These “cowardly lions” as O’Donnell describes them are not to be believed when they say they regret that they voted for something that turns to shit….like Cassidy’s confirmation vote for RFK Jr. Let’s not forget that Cheeto was impeached twice and Senate Republicans prevented conviction because it would sure look bad for the party if two Republican presidents had been forced to leave office. And even if some Republicans did the right thing on the J6 impeachment it wasn’t enough to get the appropriate conviction but for Nixon in that day even Republicans had the moral conviction that there were enough votes for conviction.

Despite their failings the Nazi Republicans have managed until now to obfuscate the true KKK leanings they have for our fellow AfroAmerican citizens as evidenced by the SCOTUS ruling that finally gutted the last remnants of the VRA(Voting Rights Act). Of course the Federalist supported nominations came from a Nazi Repubican institution and with the help of McConnell sealed the partisan SCOTUS now serving.

And for now the Nazi Republicans who have so far rubberstamped Cheeto’s brazen nepotistic corruption are feeling uneasy. Tax breaks for the ultrawealthy donor class while gutting the American social safety net, abandoning American aid to foreign countries but ok with genocide, and firing necessary civil servants in the name of fiscal conservatism can seem alright, federal corruption is a step gone too far. But they’re ok with wining elections by cheating and digitally manipulating the results.

So the Nazi Republicans have shown the American people who they really are. A group of lawless, bought off, immoral, racist, misogynistic culture warriors who have propaganidized themselves to public office. WE the People have seen enough. The electorate should not give them the public office of dogcatcher for at least 20 years.

I've said the same thing about, especially not allowing them to have all three the WH, and both houses of Congress. But for the most part, to keep them at a very low level of involvement. I am the wife of an Air Force veteran of 20 years, so I know none of it is easy. My husband didn't serve in combat, but as a family, we served our country. Our oldest gave the Army 3 years, and now a grandson is serving in the Army, just reenlisted. But my family's service goes back to my great-grandfather in the Navy in the Spanish-American War. My father and his three brothers in WWII.

Congratulations and I commend your family's dedication to serve.

I'm sorry, but did you read the post you're responding to? Why do you think what you've posted here has anything to do with the essence of the post you think your posting here? Read the room, "Protect the Vote." Your not where you seem to think you are.

Hey I'm exercising my First Amendment rights. I'm not going to criticize your comment because I don't like its content. The comment sections of all Substack channels should be open to comments of all kinds regardless of how it syncs with the channel content, especially if they provide information that can be helpful in pointing out what Substack channel creators are not willing to put into digital print.

Oh, I see, that all really clarifies things. Right! /s Plus, your closing sentence is just irretrievably opaque.

The second sentence of your 'response' I find especially poignant. You can't . . . or can't bring yourself . . . to criticize because you (wait for it!!) don't LIKE it? Holy mackerel, Andy! What kind of an American citizen does that make YOU? It epitomizes how the spirit of our founders has diminished over 250 years and, in your own manifestation of that decline definitively resides somewhere between your ears and fingers.

Almost the whole day living in the lee of Phang and two Hell Cats was a gas. I enjoyed every minute of it . . . and then you come along and piss on all four of us. Thanks, sweetie. . . Enjoy your 'doctoring,' That's a wrap! Over and out!

Protect the Vote's avatar

Spare us your rhetoric. Like it or not, first amendment. You may not like what Cheeto says but your Constitution allows it. Just sayin'.

I’m a 9 year active duty Air Force veteran and the widow of a 100% disabled Air Force veteran. I’ve been told to my face that “women aren’t in the military” even when I’ve shown that person my DD214 honarable discharge paper. We desperately need more women to serve in our military, especially at the highest levels.

Thank you Rebecca and Maura!

Felon tRump was Bibi's useful idiot to help him overthrow Iran's ayatollah regime that was a thorn in Bibi,s side. Idiot, felon tRump, saw that as an opportunity to make himself a hero, especially after the quick toppling of Venezuela's, Maduro govt. He thought Iran would be a piece of cake and he would win world wide acclaim for doing what no other administration could do, the malignant, psychopathic, megalomaniac that he is. The US military, under Whiskey Pete, felon tRump's stooge, was used to advance an unconstitutional war under false premises that Iran presented imminent danger. We, and the world, now suffer the consequences of the Idiot's decision to join Bibi and attack Iran, who posed no threat to US. Felon tRump lost because of Iran's secret weapon, the Strait of Hormuz and the mountain range defending it belonging to Iran. Iran is now in control and felon tRump is at their mercy.

Such a timely and informative video.

While hegseth is busy firing and maligning many members of our military, it is beyond great to be able to hear and see these women who represent the best!

Not an easy path for either of them, for sure. So, kudos to both for being the "Badasses" they are!!! And...sincere 'THANK YOU' TO BOTH!!

I respect women veterans. The Iraq War was an unjust war. We haven’t fought a just war since WWII. How many veterans see this? I hear the discussion on the Iran War, but all the wars since 1945 (I was born on VJ Day, 1945, August 14th) were unjustifiable. Trump/Hegseth are the worst, even worse than anybody who came before them. So many of our soldiers died in wars, but the countries we invaded lost far more—soldiers, civilians, including tiny children, homes, land, national treasure. Some things can never be recovered. Our “defense” companies have gained huge profits. Veteran suicide rates are very high.

Very interesting. Hats off to you both .

I'm an artist, not in the military. Very interesting to learn about women in the service.

Thanks for doing this.
