A Message to CBS from MeidasTouch

What an utter embarrassment you’ve become, CBS.

You were once the gold standard of journalism.

I grew up admiring you and your award-winning programs like 60 Minutes.

Your reporters had the utmost integrity. You gave a voice to the voiceless. You broke the biggest stories of the day. You commanded respect.

Now, you are no different than Newsmax or Breitbart or Fox.

You have become state regime media.

Let me briefly explain what happened, for those who don’t know.

Last night, 60 Minutes was supposed to air an episode exposing the torture and abuse inflicted on Venezuelan migrants sent by the Trump regime from the United States to the CECOT detention center in El Salvador without due process.

With just a few hours before the show was going to air, the new Editor-in-Chief, Bari Weiss, canceled the episode since it was critical of the Trump regime. Bari Weiss claimed she didn’t like the use of the word “migrant,” and she wanted more interviews with Stephen Miller to be in the episode, despite the fact that Miller and the Trump regime refused repeated requests to be interviewed.

The 60 Minutes staff was caught off guard and said the episode went through every level of rigorous vetting and legal review. In the end, Bari Weiss simply did not want to make Donald Trump upset, so she canceled the episode. This follows Trump attacking 60 Minutes for its interview with Marjorie Taylor Greene earlier this month, where Trump demanded an apology from CBS. You will also recall that CBS settled a frivolous lawsuit Trump filed against it back in July as a quid pro quo for Trump to approve the sale of CBS to a company called Skydance, which now controls the company.

This has been the weekend of cover-ups, and CBS is complicit. Trump has been covering up the Epstein files, his health records, the video of the strike on survivors from a fishing boat by Venezuela in an initial strike, and now the refusal to air this 60 Minutes episode exposing Trump’s attacks against migrants.

In a short time, Bari Weiss has fully destroyed CBS. It’s ironic that Bari pretended to be a free speech absolutist and against censorship, while herself engaging in the type of censorship we’ve seen in places like Russia and North Korea.

Last night, I thanked CBS for handing MeidasTouch its audience. As CBS and other corporate news outlets destroy themselves for a collapsing Trump regime, their viewers are coming to the MeidasTouch Network. Already, MeidasTouch gets significantly more YouTube views and engagement than CBS. MeidasTouch digital views exceed CBS digital views by multiples.

As we look ahead to 2026, one of the things I want MeidasTouch to build out is a show like 60 Minutes.

I want to let brilliant reporters and teams of journalists engage in long-form investigative pieces that can be made available on our network, free from any influence by the regime. That’s one of the pillars of the future growth of MeidasTouch, in addition to international expansion and getting more on-the-ground reporters on Capitol Hill.

As CBS and corporate news destroy themselves, it has led to the rapid growth of MeidasTouch. It’s ironic that Bari Weiss, who started on Substack many years ago and was ahead of her time for doing so, would abandon it and run a legacy media property like CBS into the ground.
