Thanks Ben, the only reason that this this segment of โ€œ60 Minutesโ€ was cut by Bari Weiss, was because it showed DT in a bad light! Period! This is the worst possible example of having the media restrict content from being aired to the public!

Not only because it shows the shitgibbon in a bad light, but shows us what is clearly in OUR FUTURE. Those private prison camps being built in the U.S. are not going to sit empty and profitless. Nope. Those will be filled with whatever AMERICANS the shitgibbon's goons scoop up, brutalize, and imprison. Count on it.

Oddly, last night I watched the documentary-style movie THE INSIDER. Al Pacino stars as Lowell Bergman, a 60 Minutes producer involved in an ensemble cast for the film. Key supporting roles include Russell Crowe as whistleblower Dr. Jeffrey Wigand, Christopher Plummer as journalist Mike Wallace. The film received seven Academy Award nominations.

โ€œAfter seeking the expertise of former "Big Tobacco" executive Jeffrey Wigand (Russell Crowe), seasoned TV producer Lowell Bergman (Al Pacino) suspects a story lies behind Wigand's reluctance to speak. As Bergman persuades Wigand to share his knowledge of industry secrets, the two must contend with the courts and the corporations that stand between them and exposing the truth. All the while, Wigand must struggle to maintain his family life amidst lawsuits and death threats.โ€

This is a similar situation in which 60 Minutes is again being pressured, this time by the US GOVERNMENT, ie the POTUS, to pull the story. Apparently speaking TRUTH to power is not permissible in Trumplandia, where corporate power reigns supreme, particularly when the truth runs counter to his/their agenda. But it IS illegal and republicans are snoozing. To what end?

What weโ€™re currently witnessing across the board is not only blatant overreach, itโ€™s shocking, reprehensible and extremely dangerous.

โ€œConstitutional Limits & Challenges:

โ€œFirst Amendment: Broadcasters, like all media, have First Amendment rights, meaning the government can't censor content or punish speech based on viewpoint, as argued in lawsuits against Trump's actions.

โ€œFCC's Role: The FCC cannot generally dictate programming content; its rules focus on technical issues and ensuring stations serve the "public interest," not political preferences.

โ€œIndependent Agencies: Agencies like the FCC are meant to be independent, though presidents have sought to bring them under more direct control.

โ€œIn Summary: While Trump can't issue direct orders on content, his administration has used regulatory avenues, like the FCC and Pentagon access, to challenge unfavorable news coverage, leading to legal battles over press freedom.โ€ AI generated.

(Scroll back 50 year to the Nixon Watergate scandal and the WH officials who aided and abetted the WH response, then covered up for Nixon. They eventually went to prison.)

Still watch my local afffiliate; they're still the best in the area, but as reporters get old and retire, I wonder how long they'll maintain the quality they do. I wonder what journalism students are being taught now; to smile pretty and forget any substance. I remember a sign in my journalism classe that said TRUTH MATTERS and had a journalism teacher that beat it into our heads along with the premise to never be afraid to ask the hard questions. I'm sure he's rolling too and screaming with every turn.
