Discrimination by those in power is far more important than discrimination by those who aren't in power (which might sensibly be called "self-defense"). This should be obvious, with white Christians claiming that they're being discriminated against. What they're complaining about is that they're being deprived of the privilege to which they consider themselves entitled. If this is not obvious to you, please read a little more U.S. history.
