I was standing in line at Dollar Tree (which already are raising prices) a customer complained about prices and I replied yes we are the ones paying for these tariffs…Heads nodding others quiet…Speaking the truth feels good….

And we need to make people aware and not let ignorance continue about what is happening. Thank you for doing that.

Juice last week 2.49 this week 4.69. People in mid west have dollar stores in just about every town and they depend on them because larger retailers like Walmart are about an hour away. Dollar stores merchandise comes mainly from China. People in red states will be boo hooing.

Yeah Dollar Tree will hit the wall soon and everything will start at $5.

We are phasing out the US Penny, I predict a single dollar bill won't be far behind at this rate.

"I predict a single dollar bill won't be far behind at this rate."

When I was a kid we had Five and Dime stores all over here in NW Iowa. Every town had one. They all disappeared and were eventually replaced by all the various dollar stores. Now it looks like they will all become Five Dollar stores. When we had the Five and Dimes they were selling cheap stuff from Japan. Now it's China. I suppose it may be India that will be next up to bat.

As for the single dollar bill not being Behind, well it may be more economical to wipe our backsides with them at this rate.

Yes. I am 76. I think as talking with my 53 yr old son

He said most places do not take cash anymore. I had a stroke and don't get out. I didn't know.

I live in a small tiny town in NW IL. Everyone takes cash here. To use a credit card, unless you're at Walmart, or the gas station (our only grocery store) or another town that has larger stores, you're charged a 3% fee because they don't have the business where the CC won't charge them a fee. I always find it weird when people say they don't carry cash. We pay in cash, we tip in cash. 🤷‍♀️

They don't accept cash in many places in Europe. Want to ride Metro? Tap your credit card (or phone) on the gate to enter. (No ticket booths or machines where you buy tickets. That step is eliminated.) Tap and go. Tap your credit card again when you exit station. Simple direct pay system.

Well, since I'm not in Europe, I'm not worried how Europe does it. Thanks for the info though.
