Did not know the AFD had pivoted away from Trump? But since Trump is a creation of Putin, does it really matter that they are now back with the puppet-master instead of the puppet?
They pivoted away because of the Iranian war, so fairly recently. Also, I heard that in this recent meeting in DC where apparently Young MAGAs were in attendance, the AfD found them repugnant. I think they were looking at themselves. But, with the Iran war they are terrified that Trump's war is going to send lots of Iranian refugees into Europe. They are probably right in that, but as an anti-immigrants, particularly Brown-skinned and Muslim immigrants, this is bad news for them. So, Trump is being an enemy to their agenda. He of course has not thought about this. He thinks sending them to Europe will help far right parties reach ascendence, and he might be right. The AfD has found immigration to be a winning issue, for the masses of self-centered and poorly informed Germans who do not see the forest for the trees.
It is harder for them to make up to their ongoing puppet-master Putin, with whom they have never broken, but it gets them more flack from the other parties because they are then clearly consorting with the enemy. Russian spies get kicked out of Germany, I don't know if US spies do. I hope so. Also, being tied to Russia makes AfD more unpopular than being tied to Trump. Still, he is harming their goals for Germany so they see that he does not care what they want.
Why would anyone bet on Trump “policies” regarding their safety and prosperity. They attempted to team up with the wrong corrupt power. Same with the Middle East “allies.”

At first I should say thank you for your information, As an Afghan veteran, this story feels painfully familiar. When war turns cities into prisons and people are left without food, water, or medicine, it’s not strategy anymore it’s pure human suffering. No civilian should be forced to choose between starvation and death on mined roads.
