BREAKING EXCLUSIVE: Gavin Newsom on His MASSIVE Lawsuit Against Fox
Newsom tells MeidasTouch about his lawsuit against Fox News for $787 million over lies that covered for Trump’s dangerous deception
By Ben Meiselas
When I say the gloves are off, I mean it. And so does California Governor Gavin Newsom.
Governor Newsom just joined me on the MeidasTouch Network to talk about why he’s suing Fox News and Jesse Watters for a staggering $787 million. And no, this isn’t about bruised egos or political posturing. This is about defending truth and trust at a time when our democracy is hanging on by a thread.
Here’s the deal: Donald Trump blatantly lied about the timing of a phone call with Governor Newsom, fabricating it to justify a dangerous and unnecessary deployment of thousands of federalized troops into California, against the Governor’s explicit objections. Fox News not only parroted the lie—they doctored video, edited timelines, and plastered chyron accusations like “GAVIN LIED” on national television. That wasn’t a mistake. That was malicious disinformation designed to prop up a wannabe authoritarian at the expense of a sitting governor’s integrity and the public’s right to the truth.
And this wasn’t some trivial misunderstanding about a calendar date. This was about matters of war and peace. As Newsom reminded us, the stakes were life and death—thousands of National Guard members were pulled off wildfire duty, off fentanyl interdiction operations, off their jobs protecting Californians, all to play a part in Trump’s theater of fascism.
In the interview, Newsom revealed that his team kept contemporaneous notes from the call with Trump—notes he says may soon be shared with Congress. Why? Because Trump wasn’t just lying, he was unraveling before their eyes. Newsom all but confirmed that Trump’s mental state during that call was so disturbing, so unmoored from reality, it would “send shivers up your spine.”
Let that sink in.
And yet, Fox didn’t just ignore it. They covered for it. They lied for him. And in doing so, they attacked the very foundations that hold democracies together: honesty, accountability, and the free flow of truthful information.
That’s why Newsom is demanding the same level of airtime Fox used to defame him to now correct the record. If they don’t, he’s taking them to court. And the damages, he says, won’t go to him, but to a fund to promote media ethics and the fight for truth.
This is a turning point. A sitting governor standing up to a propaganda machine that’s been poisoning public discourse for decades. And in a moment when 3.5 million Californians are about to lose their health care because of Trump’s disastrous budget bill, Newsom isn’t mincing words: “Enough. Let’s go.”
So what can you do? Share this interview. Watch it. Talk about it. Support this fight. Because we’re not just up against one man. We’re up against the most powerful propaganda system in history built to lie for him.

GN: Leader of the Democratic Party. Finally someone has emerged from the haze.
Wondered when someone was going to hold DJT accountable for his lies. Go Gov. Newsom. Wish you well.
