We haven't had TV since 1999. We have DVDs' and CDs' instead and watch old movies, old TV shows and rock concerts and listen to music all the time. I just hope they never stop selling DVD and CD players. We can't do without music, classical and classic rock
People after my own heart.I knew there were some of you out there! I do own a TV, still have cable and stream (and own films and TV shows digitally too so I can have them on my tablets and TV) but I am also into a lot of classic and foreign films and documentaries and old TV shows and all kinds of music (but classic rock is my fave) and am a HUGE proponent of physical media. I OWN them so I watch and listen to what I want when I want and don't need the thought police pulling or cutting films made in their time that may be offensive to everyone who gets so offended today that are still important to ME. Plus DVD/bluray players also play CDs. I love lots of modern movies too but the day I started seeing 20 minute commercials at the movies on top of the cellphone blabbers that was it for me. So I didn't see Oppenheimer in IMAX. I lived.
Music is my first love. Since we cut cable years ago, the only "watching" I do is online or offline with disc or download. But always have to have music. My latest interest is Chinese drama (historical and modern day), and some of the soundtracks are gorgeous! Just beautiful. i need to find out where/how to get recordings, I don't have the equipment to get it off the computer.
We have never had cable but now we have a wide screen TV that is only hooked up to the computer and our own DVD player and we get some old shows that come through the computer for free but mostly we watch our own DVDs and that's just in the evening. During the day we have music playing all day.
OH yeah all day music! When I was young and able to do a lot of cleaning at a time, there was usually rock or Motown to accompany it. I love all kinds of music except I'm not real crazy about country. I played the piano for many years and wish I still could.
I know what you mean. I have always loved the Rolling Stones and Eric Clapton until they both refused to have their audiences wear face masks during the early part of the pandemic. I can't seem to forgive them of that total stupidity! My first concert was when my friend and I went to see the Stones when I was 14. Now at 72 I am angry and and turned off by them! I have to wonder how many in their audiences died of covid as a result of those two concerts. The Stones called it the No Filter Tour and Clapton just said he didn't think it was right to force audiences to wear masks. That's just plain BS!
Yes! It always feels like network news on TV is shouting at us!! I always hated TV news!!
I hate TV, period. Eliminated it 5 years ago, no talking heads, no commercials.
