I love everything you do but we need to do more. I read Heather Cox Richardson this morning and I am amazed there is not more backlash. He is creating a total disaster. Where are all of the elected officials (both dems and reps) and why aren't they screaming. Some are - like Chris Murphy. I know there are lots of lawyers like Mark Elias, etc working to stop things. I'm just worried that it will all be too late. I'm usually optimistic but I don't feel that way today. Keep up the great work - we need you.

I have mixed feelings about the Democrats reactions or lack thereof. I think that the Republicans are doing a great job of being hoisted on their own petard. The Democrats may be just sitting back watching Republicans implode without any help from them. I read that Jeffries has had meetings with Congressional Democrats on strategy but they are keeping their cards close to their chest. Look at it this way - Republicans can't blame anyone but themselves for what is going on. If the Democrats involve themselves in this clusterfuck, then Republicans, true to form, would skew things around and blame the Democrats. By sitting back and watching what is happening, Democrats know that Republicans can only blame themselves. It actually is a delicious thing to watch Republicans twisting in the wind. The shit is going to hit the fan even worse this week and things are going to get mighty interesting.

I agree. The Democrats need a plan for sure, especially not cooperating or compromising with Republicans. For example, when a vote is called, instead of saying yea or nay, they need to stand and say things like the following:

'I will not cooperate with this fascist government so I will not vote'.

'I will not participate in harming Americans so I cannot not vote for this bill.'

'This bill is illegal under the Constitution so I will not break the law by voting for it.'

'This bill undermines and attacks the Bill of Rights so I will not vote for it.'

'This proposed law will endanger the safety of people of colour (or immigrants, Muslims, LGBTQ, or PW Disability, etc) so I cannot and will not vote for this bill.'

'The purpose of this bill is to exact revenge on the President's perceived enemies so in good conscience, I cannot vote for it.'

'This bill stands against every American value that has made this country great so I will not vote it.'

'This bill will irreparably harm the good standing of America in the world. I cannot and will not vote for it.'

'This bill benefits the enemies of America and our way life so I will not vote for it'.

'This bill has the potential to foster hate and violence. In good conscience, I cannot vote for it.'

'This bill proposed by the Gang that Couldn't Shoot Straight may have dangerous consequences.' LOL

That said, I feel it is not helpful to merely trash the Democrats. I think this has the potential to make people throw up their hands and just not act or vote. Rather, provide ideas for things they can do. Republicans control the presidency, House, Senate and the Supreme Court so what they can do in Congress is limited.

Excellent suggestions and an excellent post. Thank you. Is there any way to send this to our Democratic representatives? I live in Central CA so my rep is a Republican. But those who have Democratic representatives should copy and paste this and send it to them en masse.

Thank you. It can be emailed if you have the email addresses for the Representatives.

If the results were purely economic and easy to connect the dots, I would agree with that strategy. But what Musk is doing has hugely damaging consequences for millions of people that can’t be easily fixed. Cybersecurity is at risk

with his takeover of two agencies without close oversight and everyone’s hair should be on fire right now.

I'd really like to know what you think the Dems can do. Lots of ideas are needed.

Every American, regardless of party or ideology, needs to be vigilant in communicating their opposition to rogue and reckless (and corrupt) actions by this administration. If Zuckerberg isn’t going to “censor” posts on Facebook, then maybe REAL AMERICANS should test that and say what you think (if you use Facebook).
