Agreed. I’m in North Carolina so I’m preparing for the pain but I stand with Canada. Watching the world stand up to FOTUS has given me the smallest shred of hope.

Also in NC, Asheville area. As if the hurricane wasn't enough, now this.

At least there was still FEMA to help at the time. If it happened this week can you imagine? Funds are now being cut off to Habitat and other federal helping agencies

I guess if there are any slivers of silver linings in this shit show, that’s one of them. Had it happened now… I’m terrified to imagine how much worse it would be.

I live in eastern NC in a very red town - I feel like chicken little. I sell building materials (work should be interesting this week) and Habitat is one of our customers. I hadn’t even thought of them yet - I wonder how this will affect their current projects?

There was an article in Asheville Citizen Times, various agencies here very worried. Yes it will be like the poisonous strands of a jellyfish...impacting just about everyone if he isn't stopped.

We are in our 70s retired, depending on VA benefits and Fed retirement benefits...not to mention Medicare...things about to get really ugly for all of us. We feel trapped here

We feel trapped as well. Mid 40s, three kids 10 15 and 17 (one a girl), two incomes but not enough for any kind of savings. We can’t afford to get out so we are settling in and preparing for the worst. I can’t imagine the unease you must feel, and my heart hurts for you. I hope you at least have a strong support community around you?
