It would be nice if the DEMOCRATES would actually nominate someone in their party to be President that the people of the USA could actually vote for, that would be a great starting point for the Dems.

I couldn't disagree more. Kamala Harris had EVERYTHING a great president need: a strong moral compass, more experience than any of the last FOUR presidents upon being sworn in, an incredible work ethic, and a passion for improving people's lives through real, democratic, step by step change.

And even a merely average candidate would have been incredibly better than handing over DC entirely to a neofascist GOP.

So no, your idea is utterly absurd, and a big reason explaining how we got here in the first place!

Expand full comment
Elena Freshman Schumann's avatar

You are living in an alternate reality. Personally I thought Kamala was fine, but I knew she would NEVER BE ELECTED. And guess what: KAMALA LOST TO DONALD TRUMP OF ALL PEOPLE! If she was so good she would have won, it is what it is, you are not in charge.

Expand full comment
EUWDTB's avatar

Absurd. With 200,000 more votes in the three blue wall swing states, SHE would have been present today. And it could well have been that with a different type of weather, 200,000 more people would have come out. And democracy ITSELF was at stake.

Remember, in a democracy, "we the people" always get the government we deserve. Refuse to fact-check and inform yourself? You'll end up with an immoral criminal installing fascism. No one else to blame than you...

I have been an advocate of abolishing the electoral collage though I am not sure that pure popular vote so replace it. The point is I knew what the rules were before the election and I knew under the CURRENT RULES NOT SOME MADE UP PIE IN THE SKY RULES THAT MAY APPLY SOME TIME IN THE FUTURE, KAMALA WOULD LOSE. I was of course, totally correct. KAMALA LOST UNDER THE CURRENT RULES OF ELECTING PRESIDENT AS I CORRECTLY PREDICTED!

You think? Are you still believing everything you are told? Please grow up and stop talking about being the 'most powerful' It's rubbish. You have no idea, for instance' just how powerful China is. They never talk about it. That is Power!!

Americans have been rushing around forever saying how powerful they are how they have won wars - actually they haven't yet. They helped in the end with WWII, but it wasn't just them at the end, the ANZACS - AUSTRALIA, NEW ZEALAND AND CANADA ALONG WITH SCOTS, WELSH AND ENGLISH THE FRENCH - ALL BATTLED THE FINAL MONTHS America did not win that war on their own either.

Has it ever occurred to you, when you run around blowing your trumpet why other countries do no do this?

Other countries, who have been around for centuries know the shame of war.

The loss of life on both sides due to their wretched leaders is always appalling. Men are killed by men on both sides who have families and people depending on them. There is no pride to be taken in war.

Our soldiers are there to do a job and they do it well, but they do not go around boasting. You believe you won the war because you have no idea just how many other people fought alongside you, they don't tell you.

Think about that.

He did not. First of all, trade across the border continues. Traveling continues. So the border isn't closed at all. Secondly, Biden already stopped all illegals from coming in, after the GOP once again refused to tackle the very cause of the problem and pass a bipartisan border security bill and executive action remained the only option.

Meanwhile, we know that 50% of fentanyl comes in through LEGAL entry points, in cars driven by AMERICANS. The Biden-Lankfort bipartisan bill would have provided border patrol agents with the tech devices needed to catch them all. Instead, Trump sends... the military, in other words, people who are now missing out on crucial trainings needed to defeat foreign armies and who are falling asleep at the border, doing work they weren't trained to do. It's one big mess. And that's EXACTLY what the GOP wants.

The Orange Cheeto and the American Economic Collapse: Depression and Unemployment

Fortune magazine reports that almost 25% of the American work force is functionally unemployed https://bit.ly/4l9CX2B Those are Great Depression numbers, folks!!

Der Fuhrer and his clown show Nazi regime represent the trigger that will push an already recessed economy toward collapse much worse than the 2008 Lehman crisis The reason for this is Cheeto’s ridiculous tariff policy which almost all economic experts agree is an abomination Even the Murdoch owned Wall Street Journal sees the writing on the wall

Cheeto lied to the electorate so he could keep his ass out of jail and the American electorate believed him Now with far right radical henchmen JD Vance and Curtis Yarvin, supported by billionaires like Thiel and Musk, Cheeto is consciously or unconsciously taking a wreaking ball to the economy As Vance has said, “private businesses have to feel the pain” and his compadre Yarvin feels that Americans “need to get over their dictatorphobia” And with voter suppression laws like the SAVE act and strategies like vigilante challenges by Nazis as happened in 2024, the democratic government may be on its last leg

Actually what may be ironically the saving grace for the American democracy is that the Nazis piss off the electorate so badly with the destroyed economy that there will be a Revolution 2.0 that will throw the Nazis out of power

See Macleod explain this in terms that most people can understand and how to protect yourself https://bit.ly/4jPDaI5

The "kidnapped immigrants" are being returned to their countries of origion on planes. By the way that is in the news every day or maybe you do not read the news?, Trump does not want them, Do not you get It??? Sure they could come back but they often paid a lot of money to get here and it would take quite a while to earn that money back. Some do earn that money back and come back, some do not. People are being murdered in China on a scale worse than what the Nazi's did, if you want to do something you should help them or maybe they do not count because the people being murdered are ethnically Chineese. They are being murdered because they believe the faith of Islam, that is the only reason. The Arab Musliums do not seem to care about Asian Musliums. WHY NOT, ask them but again if you want to help someone help them, every life is precious even ASIAN lives.

Expand full comment
Elena Freshman Schumann's avatar

WAIT you have a point. MANY are being returned, on planes and busses and some come back and some do not. However, are they ALL being returned to their home countries???? Honestly I do not know. Do you know??? If you know something is going on that should not be going on , I would suggest you notify the ACLU or an immigrants rights organization and let them know what you know that the government should NOT be doing. One of the reasons why the 3rd Reich got away with killing ELEVEN MILLION PEOPLE, six million of which were Jews, is because the general population did not care what was happening to Jews and other undesirables (homsexuals, disabled, mentally challenged, gypsys and others) who were being taken away to be murdered.

Trump mixed up the identification of that picture because he was too vain to wear his reading glasses. There's no way Trump can see both distance and near at the same time without optical help unless he has monovision (one eye emmetropic, the other myopic), and I saw a picture of him on Air Force One wearing half eye readers, so I don't think he has monovision.
