Musk is in his FIFTIES. There’s something defective about all of the men in Trump’s circle and his followers. They aren’t maturing properly. They aren’t “men”. They’re stupid, childish, cruel rejects. But I’m also just as disgusted with our military. There’s a literal coup happening and apparently EVERY single general, and EVERY branch of the military is just going to let that happen, constitution be damned? And I keep hearing how tough it is on the GOP senators and congresspeople. How scared they are. I imagine MLK knew what he was risking, and Medger Evers, and Ghandi, and any number of heroes from around the world. But you know what? They did what was right because they had integrity and courage. America is a country of cowards and I am deeply ashamed.

sorry, how can a lawful regime change - democratically elected in a democratic republic - be a "literal coup"?

Elon Musk was NOT elected. DOGE is a department illegally created by Donald Trump without congressional approval. When any unelected individual is given unlimited access to the financial and organizational affairs of a nation without justification or oversight, that is undoubtedly a coup. Anyone who believes otherwise is either naive or stupid.

Elon Musk has been allocated powers by a democratically elected president, and that is perfectly allowed WITHIN the system. DOGE was created via an executive order, which is a viable way of creating an advisory board so long as it does not fully function as an executive department. The president, who is democratically elected, can delegate access to information how he wishes under the current legal framework - that is definitionally the opposite of a coup. So, in summary, you are either lexically or legally inept, both, or just acting in severe bad faith. Fear mongering and attempting to use serious accusations in a smear campaign does nothing but dilute the true horror and experience of a real coup.

are you going to address any of the points I made, or continue to live in your echo chamber? is it not more cult-like to not engage with members outside the cult, like you are doing now?

FFS where did you take civics? Cuba? A President has one task, "to faithfully execute the laws of the United States." He does not get to bring in a self dealing ketamine addled illegal immigrant to break laws for him. Congress has the power of the purse, they LEGISLATE government departments in and out of existence. When they DEMOCRTICALLY VOTE for funds, it passes the Senate, and is signed by a President, it becomes law and can only be undone the same way. For F Sake, at least watch School House Rock, or did your 3 sister Mom's not let you watch School House Rock when they home schooled you?

If you actually look at the law/jurisprudence, it's at worst an open question whether DOGE can exist, and at best the answer is simply that it can. Civics actually goes beyond what you are told when you are 13, if you care to pay attention and actually read the documents that are of concern. Look into advisory groups and their creation through executive orders, also look into Nixon's creation of the EPA (while it was deemed part of his power due to a the Reorganization act of 1949, it still gives you some context for reorganization within executive departments and groups). look into reprograming, transfer, and White House budget authority. You learn about most of this when you take advanced classes in high school, or just go and read on your own volition.

…and yes, absolutely, civics goes far beyond the basics. But you either fail to understand the foundational principles, or you are okay with corrupting or altogether abandoning them. As far as I can see, Musk is yet another opportunist willing to break the law for crimes that benefit Trump. And spare me feigned ignorance as to who those others might be.

I have participated in Civics the better part of my life. I don't need a lecture from a fascist dismantling our Constitutional republic, much less would I consider supporting a self dealing ketamine addled illegal immigrant with no understanding or respect for our Constitutional republic, but what? Is it now 24 government contracts, 3or 4 new ones in as many weeks? Nor are his teenage hackers forensic accountants. They have no idea what they are doing.

When they talk about Project 2025, people freak out because it is blatantly undemocratic, the coup leader denies it and berates it, then when elected, the author is the head of Office of Management and Budget. A " Manchurian Candidate," an enemy from within.

well Ross Vought was head of the OMB under Trump's first term as well and the US wasn't any less of a democracy... have you actually read anything in Project 2025 that he co-authored? Mandate for Leadership or anything else? or are you just complaining whenever a conservative is in office?

Russ Vought then went to Heritage, along with several other Trump administration flunkies who couldn't get employment elsewhere. Yes, I have read some of Project 2025. Instructive that it was so unpopular, and so repulsive that Trump did what he always does, lie his face off, swear he knew nothing about it, but yet called it crazy. MAGA was all over the place denying it, some more of that “fake news.” And here we are. You must enjoy the taste of boot leather.
