After School Specials, LaVar Burton (?) and Reading Rainbow, the cartoon series about conjuctions, the Constitution, etc. etc. So much PBS does/did to help educate ourselves and our children. A big step up from Captain Kangaroo and Howdy Doody.

This article about Kermit’s speech made me cry. I began watching Sesame Street in 1971 when I was 21 and my oldest daughter was two years old. I watched it through 2 more daughters and a daycare home until the late 80s. Best show ever.
Me too. Did Kermit and Ms. Piggy ever marry? As a child, Sunday evening’s was Family time. The big dinner and desert. Then Jacques Cousteau and The Wonderful World of Disney. It baffles my mind why anyone turns something so simple into an abomination.

My son had a Kermit hand puppet. We spent a lot of time playing with that. Kermit could magically eat things ( there was a hole and small things would go through it and disappear). Fond memories, I hadn't thought about that for years. My son is now 50 years old.
