I wrote my senator every day for the last couple weeks. Today we hear in a news bulletin that's she's joining Doge to help them root out waste. It's pretty discouraging; so how's everyone else doing with their letter writing/call campaigns.?

Call her and tell her you are not happy about her joining DODGE. The waste is DODGE and Elon's contracts. What about the waste in her Congressional office? Thank you for your work and efforts to contact your representative. Please keep it out and get your friends to help out too.

It has been said in many ways and by people who have worked in a SenatorтАЩs or CongresspersonтАЩs office that the best way to be a real influence is to call not write. Also, go to town halls. I am calling my Congressman every day I can. I have three numbers to his office to choose from. CALL YOUR SENATORS. Oh, and call your Congressperson.

I called and emailed Rep.Tom Kean, R-NJ. I get either a generic letter that doesn't address my issues or when I call they make excuses why he hasn't arranged a town hall. I also called and emailed Sen.Andy Kim, D-NJ and no response. Frankly, I'm disgusted with our country.

Did you ever see the movie The Shawshank Redemption? One of the key characters (played by Tim Robbins) was imprisoned for a murder he didn't commit, but he never lost hope; "Hope is a good thing," he would say.

When he got a work assignment in the prison library he wrote to the same person every day for many weeks (maybe years, I forget now, but it was a long time) asking to donate books to the library. He never got an answer until one day a load of books and records arrived with a response to his letters.

Please keep bugging your representatives every day. Demand answers to your questions. Make them worry they won't get reelected. Call them out on social media and demand a town hall. Hope IS a good thing, and so is persistence.

I am happy to say I live in New York. Senator Schumer tries but he just reads speeches. He needs to have some sort of feeling. Senator Gillibrand does help people but she needs to be more vocal on her stand against Trump. Governor Hochul just laid into Trump about being King. She has finally gotten fierce.
