The Dems could see the writing on the wall in two aspects. First, they knew that if it was proven before inauguration Maga would start a civil war. They knew it would eventually come out and the Dems would then have the advantage. Independent investigators are on the precipice of showing how Elon did it. More than anything else I think that is why they are moving so quickly to destroy any institution that could stand against them.
Second, The darkest theory, is that they see the writing on the wall and know that the bird flu is here and will become a pandemic shortly. Most scientists agree with that. It appears that the strains most likely to go airborne causing the pandemic have a much higher mortality rate than the first go-around. Long story short they don't want to have to claim responsibility for the millions dead. They will be happy to come in and clean up Cheetos mess and be the white night so to speak solidifying power for at least a generation.
These are the only two reasons racking my brain I can think of and both are very dark reasons.... sorry 😥
Both of your theories sound like they carry water. We need to have a new conservative party start up, that will draw congressmen and senators away from maga. It won't take much to throw a massive wrench into the maga clown car. I have been advocating this but I do not know enough anti-trump conservative groups to pitch my words to.
