Before you had mentioned it, I was going to say there was a Tik Tok or Instagram video that to avoid the suppression people were using the term music festival. But Ben you were clued in on it already!

Social media companies are definitely becoming like Twitter, where left leaning and anti Trump voices are being seen less and less but promoting MAGA voices.

I follow Democrats on social media, but Facebook wants to show me MTG’s wacky posts and I am not seeing as many posts from my Senators and Governor? They are defined putting their fingers on the scale to make Trump happy.

Substack for now is the best platform and currently I am happy with YouTube as they too promote videos I that align with independent creators I can trust.

Naw, dude....

Fight with LOVE and COURAGE, not HATE.

"PEACE that passes all UNDERSTANDING" found in Philippians 4:7. It reads, "And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds..." which highlights a peace that is not based on circumstances or human reasoning, but rather a supernatural peace that comes from God.

God is Love and Love is God.

Keep the faith, with strength, not violence.

This from a mom, with a son who was a first round draft pick and major league baseball pitcher at one time - now a fire department paramedic. "He holds the distinction of having tied an MLB record by striking out four batters in one inning." (Wikipedia)

Lets match that record and find a way to "strike out 4 batters in one inning", with pride and brave honor, heralded as our nation's legacy.

This from a daughter of a traditional jazz musician, who would break the ice when fellow band mates would be in disharmony and discord, cheerfully interrupting and so out of character with "Try and get along, fellas!"

I asked him once, "Dad, how do you get your audiences (no matter the size) so 'in the zone' and so mesmerized by your every note, anticipating your next chorus with such rapt attention?" He thought a minute. "By playing in time with the beat of my heart."

I didn't understand what he meant exactly, but told this story at his NOLA French Quarter Memorial Service, and to a newspaper reporter afterwards. Now, I better understand what he meant.

I'm teaching this to my grand son, who's inherited his great grandfather's talents and charisma as an up and coming musician, lyricist and vocalist.

Om, or Aum, the sound of the universe - the equivalent of hearing the hum of a large group of people talking at a party, without being able to distinguish any individual voice, or the roar of a crowd at a baseball game.

Calming sounds- Listening to calming sounds like temple bells can reduce stress and anxiety, and improve your mood.

• Binaural beats

These brain waves can help you transition into a desired state of mind, such as relaxation, focus, or alertness. Beta frequency binaural beats (14–30 Hz) can improve concentration and memory, while 40 Hz binaural beats can help with learning and training.

• Low-frequency sounds

These sounds can increase alpha waves, which are associated with relaxation and creative thinking.

• High-frequency sounds

These sounds can increase beta waves, which can promote focus and alertness.

• Meditation

You can use bell tones as part of a meditation routine to help you feel grounded and tranquil

Please let's go forward with the beat of our good strong hearts, 'cuz our lives depend on it!

Cuz family is on FB and sometimes can only find certain items on Amazon. Gift shopping, when family is out of state and on a budget is challenging.

Expand full comment
Susan Raquel's avatar

When shopping look for the name of the company that is selling the item on Amazon, Walmart, etc. Then look and see if that company, often a small business, has a website. From there see if there is a difference in price. Sometimes it is the same price as Amazon.

Expand full comment
Patricia Reed's avatar

My husband and I have started ordering directly from the company making the product. Sometimes that isn't possible so we find a different product or, if not possible, just go without. For gifts, a note with a check saves tax on the gift and shipping fees.

Just came across this: "Amazon hosts millions of sellers — in fact, more than 60% of Amazon sales come from independent sellers, most are small and medium-sized businesses. And as you'd expect, 71% of the products they sell are sourced from China, with other top suppliers including India, Germany, Mexico and Japan. It means products you think are "American" could easily be shipped from overseas, even if it's not obvious on Amazon."

Plan B is operating our own websites if we can because 1) the Internet is needed by the MAGAs to spread their nonsense so is no doubt protected, and 2) there are a variety of non-partisan Web providers. That way we can still communicate by electronic means.

Plan C is radio and if you really want old school - Ham radio, CBs, walkie talkies, those Nextel phones that allowed intercom communication. Our Cell phones unless they find a way to turn off cell phones of the non-cultists - and that would lose them huge sums of money.

Plan D is paper and print - mail. Driving, walking, horses... Really old school.

Remember that the original revolutionaries didn't have any of this stuff and they managed to get the word out to 13 colonies on the East Coast. I think we can all get the word spread just as well clear across this country no matter how we would have to do it.

I see a lot of "reels" from the democrats when I watch them on Facebook. Like and follow them, which ups your algorithm to provide you with more of their content. I've seen more appear right after only clicking like on 1 reel, so clicking like on them all will mean you will see more and more. At least that is what I see as of this moment.

Mark Zuckerberg wants to play both sides of the fence or he'll lose advertising revenue. If he allows his algorithms to get rid of all the liberals, then he loses over 1/2 of his income - that would be devastating. So, I don't see him blocking liberal content at least for now.

Same with Amazon. They aren't going to try and figure out who their liberal customers are and block them from purchases. Musk won't stop a liberal from buying a Tesla. Money is money to these freaks and they aren't going to go along with the "stomp the liberals" if it means losing a dollar.

Man, this is how they do it. They don’t roll in with one big “shut it down” sign nah, they chip away at you. Little by little. First they cut the reach, then the money, then suddenly you’re wondering why your feed feels like AM radio at 3 a.m. That’s the play.

And watching Ben get squeezed? Oh, that’s textbook. I’ve been over here damn near bald from pulling my hair out putting together clickable receipts for my Epstein/Ghislaine series….hours of work just so people can follow the trail without getting lost in the weeds. And I promise you, there are folks who’d rather eat glass than see those dots connected in public. Seems like someone out there has been leaving a trail of 404 errors when you hit that link.

Silencing Ben isn’t just “politics.” It’s the art of making sure you never get to see the full picture. No receipts. No timelines. Just “trust us” from the same people who’ve been lying to your face for years.

So yeah, this is NOT the time to get quiet. This is the time to crank the volume ‘til the knob snaps off. Make ‘em uncomfortable. Make ‘em sweat. And make damn sure the truth keeps getting out even if it’s on the last platform standing.

(Sing along - virtual "music festival" - it's karaoke time)

[Verse 1: Lionel Richie, Lionel Richie & Stevie Wonder, Stevie Wonder]

There comes a time

when we heed a certain call

When the world must come together as one

There are people dying

[Paul Simon, Paul Simon & Kenny Rogers]

Oh, and it's time to lend a hand to life

The greatest gift of all

[Verse 2: Kenny Rogers, James Ingram, Tina Turner]

We can't go on pretending day by day

That someone, somewhere will soon make a change

We are all a part of God's great big family

[Billy Joel, Billy Joel & Tina Turner]

And the truth, you know

Love is all we need

[Chorus: Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, Both]

We are the world, we are the children

We are the ones who make a brighter day

So let's start giving

There's a choice we're making

We're saving our own lives

It's true, we'll make a better day

Just you and me

[Verse 3: Dionne Warwick, Dionne Warwick & Willie Nelson, Willie Nelson, Al Jarreau]

Well, send them your heart so they'll know that someone cares

And their lives will be stronger and free

As God has shown us by turning stone to bread

And so we all must lend a helping hand

These are my thoughts - I am writing to Governors Newsom, Pritzker and Hochul. They need to unite and gather all Democratic governors together to become united. They need to decide on a leader to unite them all. Gather Bernie Sanders, AOC, Jasmine Crock, Jamie Raskin and all Democrats together. Decide on a united game plan so that Americans can get on board to fight what is happening. I believe every Democratic state needs to call on the National Guard to protect themselves. Trump is using Washington as a testing ground and the Democrats need to fight fire with fire. Right now there are so many groups who are trying to fight what is going on and most Americans do not know which group to join. We need a united front. Yes... but Beto is fighting it. And there are a lot of people helping the Texas Dems.

Yes! Many of us have been saying something similar. Pro-democracy Americans need a team with a de facto leader to rally behind - a stark contrasted choice that Americans can visually see and choose.

Yep. The resistance to this autocratic cancer is too diffuse. It needs to be better choreographed to maximize its critical mass. Dems need to stop quibbling over their differences and unite around a single cause; defense of democracy.

Elon Musk wanted to buy Substack not long after he bought Twitter in 2022. But the newsletter and podcast platform wasn’t for sale. This month Substack raised a further $100 million (€85.44 million) in investment. The deal put a reported $1.1 billion valuation on the business. For now, Substack remains privately owned.

There was nothing to log in to. It's a web page. Click the crunchbase link, you are there. As I said above, if there's an issue with your ISP, you might not be able to see it. Some from other countries might have that problem. Not sure. Everyone can just search "who owns substack" and get their own info.

No one has bought substack. Internet AI reports: "No, Substack is not currently for sale. It is a privately held company, and there are no publicly announced plans for it to be sold. Substack was founded in 2017 and has secured funding from venture capital firms, but it remains under the control of its original founders.

While Substack is not for sale, it's important to understand that private companies can become publicly traded through various methods, including IPOs, SPACs, direct listings, or mergers and acquisitions. Substack has not yet filed for an IPO.

Here's a breakdown of why Substack is not for sale:

Private Ownership:

Substack is a privately held company, meaning its ownership is not publicly traded.

No Public Announcement:

There have been no public announcements or reports indicating that Substack is for sale.

Continued Operation:

Substack continues to operate as a platform for writers and creators, offering tools for building and monetizing newsletters.

Funding History:

Substack has raised significant funding rounds, but these have been from venture capital firms, not through a sale of the company."

I always source my findings in case someone thinks I'm making things up or am trying to influence the way people think. I don't like AI so very much but it has the ability to 'crawl' the Internet and give a synopsis, so sometimes I use it, other times I go deeper to find other sources.

I seem to still be receiving the notifications from Meidas touch on youtube for now. I am in Canada but have a brother in California. What is the best way to share info with him?. Instead of clicking SHARE i copy the link and paste it into the body of the email with a heading (subject) like HAPPY BIRTHDAY. Is this the best way to do it without waking up the algorithm dragon?

Expand full comment
Bluesmurf's avatar

Yes... copy and paste the article and not the links. Links in emails are used for scams and downloading malware onto your computer to steal your passwords and other data. People typically won't click on links in emails - and you should not.

If you want to share videos - just write in the email "search for Meidas Touch Videos on the Internet" instead of a link so they can find what you want them to see - putting the headline with it will help find whatever you are trying to share. It is safer this way. Scammers will take advantage of anything they can to open a door to our devices.

The biggest problem with substack is that you really have no way to keep in touch w/ your followers if you justifiably have reason to exit the platform. There ARE ways to use SMS both for your news feed & to directly interact w/your audience, but the biggest hesitation is being willing to get off ANY commercial network whether it be Substack or schlubhack.
