By Ben Meiselas
Dear Meidas Mighty,
It’s MeidasTouch Co-Founder Ben Meiselas. As we conclude this week and head into the weekend, I wanted to speak to you directly.
The first week of March is coming to an end.
Once again, Trump caved—temporarily withdrawing his tariffs against Mexico and Canada—and extended the “new tariff deadline” to April 2.
Mexico largely ignored Trump this time, treating him the way my dad warned me to avoid the aggressive drunk at a bar.
Canada, on the other hand, stood up strong and very publicly to Trump, punching back hard at the “bully with no clothes” after repeatedly being threatened with annexation and other acts of disrespect. Canada went “elbows up” and “gloves off” and publicly outmaneuvered Trump.
Donald Trump, the withering old fool that he is, has never looked weaker.
A frail and decrepit human, sitting in the epicenter of power but oozing grievance and fear, coated in orange makeup.
A ghastly and pathetic sight—like a virus that has reunited with its unwitting host, which failed to repel it but is desperately fighting to once again excrete it.
Just a gross thing he is.
Trump’s joint session speech was a disaster.
His response to his gross mismanagement of the economy has been to tell farmers and struggling Americans to “have fun.”
MAGA Republicans in Congress are now spewing talking points that “short-term corrections” will result in “immediate pain and suffering,” but that the economic calamity is part of the “art of the deal” and will reveal its true purpose in due time.
Another word for this is fraud—or a Ponzi scheme.
I hate to see the predictable pain and suffering Trump is causing the United States and most of the world.
He is a clear and present danger to civilization who should never be normalized.
Let me offer some unsolicited advice to leaders in the pro-democracy movement on how to deal with this menace and his brigade of zombified, menacing MAGA maniacs.
Here’s the key: Recognize the difference between manufactured rage and actual rage.
Manufactured rage is often the right-wing narrative and framework designed to obfuscate and distract from the source of real rage.
The right-wing thrives on manufactured rage because it’s how they get their voters to vote against their own interests.
Because right-wing oligarchs control the media, they are often successful in pulling people into their manufactured rage cesspool—like a riptide dragging victims into the ocean.
When you play in the cesspool, you will end up covered in right-wing fascist excrement.
Stop it.
The truth is staring you in the face.
Look at it.
There is real rage right before you.
People are enraged at what Trump, Elon, and the MAGA goons are doing right now to screw up their actual lives.
This isn’t manufactured rage—this is actual rage.
Our government is being destroyed by Trump, Musk, and MAGA.
They are tanking our markets, and our 401(k)s are suffering.
Prices are surging as GDP growth falls, and we are entering “stagflation” (high inflation and negative GDP).
Trump is sending us into a recession—or worse.
Trump has destroyed American alliances, weakened both our soft and hard power, and humiliated the United States before the world on a daily basis.
With all of this going on, do not get trapped in right-wing manufactured rage-bait narratives and ecosystems.
When I say be loud and proud about our own values, I mean the following:
Stand tall in defense of workers.
Fight for equality.
Do not back down from fights with oligarchs.
It is never “cool” or “alpha” to bully marginalized groups.
Defend the environment and support common-sense gun reform.
We don’t need pro-democracy leaders drifting in the putrid gaseous stench of right-wing rage flatulence.
We must chart our own path—our own course—that actually aligns with the overwhelming majority of the American people. But that requires the courage to stand up for enduring values and principles. Let our framework be the benchmark, because it’s the one that actually impacts Americans the most.
That’s enough preaching for me in this post, but I think these points are vital—and they are being overlooked. Too many pro-democracy leaders are making unfortunate miscalculations.
This has been a week of major growth for the MeidasTouch network.
Despite all the headlines about the MeidasTouch Network beating Joe Rogan in downloads and Fox News in views, it has been business as usual here at MeidasTouch (Add the MeidasTouch Podcast on Apple Podcasts and Spotify).
Day in and day out, we’re putting in the work—calling out the Trump regime and the MAGA leaders who are causing our nation harm.
We’re making sure the truth gets out, counteracting the propaganda from Fox and the sanewashing by corporate media.
We do not take a single subscriber or view for granted. We treat our position as the leader of independent media with the utmost care and respect, and we guard our responsibility to fight for you with our lives.
This fight won’t be easy, but I feel more confident each day that we are making major progress in rebuilding the media and creating an infrastructure that will last for generations—one that will help make America free once again.
We are deeply grateful for the support of the MeidasMighty and all of our subscribers to this Substack.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
We are an independent media network that has grown to our present size and reach with no investors.
That is virtually unheard of.
Our competitors are funded with billions of dollars.
It is imperative that we keep growing.
We ask that you please subscribe to this Substack now if you can.
Your support of this Substack has been invaluable to our growth.
As you may know, we’ve set an ambitious subscriber goal for March. If you can subscribe—or if you can gift someone you know a subscription—it goes a long way.
Thank you, as always.
Let’s keep making history together.
Thanks again for subscribing.
Good morning Ben,
When you get a chance please watch Senator Chris Murphy’s YouTube video entitled:
“ Murphy: Six Weeks In, This White House Is On Its Way To “ and possibly share it with the Meidas Mighty. I am so proud of my Ct. Senator!
The democratic party needs to take some valuable lessons in how Mexico and Canada are responding to trump. They need to stop worrying about the 2026 and 2028 elections by playing it safe and start going "elbow to elbow" with trump and their Republican colleagues just like the world leaders. The time is now as we are living the coup and watching the dismantling of our Constitution in real time. There will not be free and fair elections in 2026 or 2028 if they don't ramp it up NOW.
