The democratic party needs to take some valuable lessons in how Mexico and Canada are responding to trump. They need to stop worrying about the 2026 and 2028 elections by playing it safe and start going "elbow to elbow" with trump and their Republican colleagues just like the world leaders. The time is now as we are living the coup and watching the dismantling of our Constitution in real time. There will not be free and fair elections in 2026 or 2028 if they don't ramp it up NOW.

We need warriors, champions, fighters to defend democracy, to protect America. Are there any Dems who can do more than simply tell us there are problems. We know Republicans have sold their souls to Trump/Musk, so it's up to others to preserve and protect our nation, our values, our way of life.

I'd love some ideas about specifically what the Dems can do. We have some folks (Sanders, Murphy, Jeffries, Crockett, Breshear, Pitzker, Warren, Slotkin, AOC and several others). These folks are articulate and vocal. They are saying everything that needs to be said. Do we "just" need more of them to be speaking out loudly in red/purple states? I'd like to see Dems holding town meetings in red areas, especially those where the maga Members of Congress are following the directive to not hold them. But what else should/could we be doing? What can I suggest to Ken Martin that he/we be doing?

Specifically what Dems can do: stop catering to their progressive fringe groups and listen to what every-day Americans want. Craft real policies on how to achieve these goals, rather than spewing fuzzy language about "hope" and "progress." Admit Biden/Harris made real mistakes when it comes to the border and immigration. Stop the nonsense that "a rising tide lifts all boats." Abandon the idea that it is time for a particular candidate to be the nominee because of length of service. Put up the most electable candidate, not the legacy or aspirational one. Et cetera.

What is to stop Trump from simply dismantling Congress?

What does he actually need them for?

He does what he wants with the blessings of the Supreme Court and he owns the Justice Department so any lawsuits against him are impotent.

He issues EOs every day that Congress has nothing to do with.

Right now, their only job is to applaud him in his presence because they gave him all their power.

I've been saying that the Repbs will lose their jobs if they continue this way, via midterms (if we have them) or IT getting rid of Congress, so WHY NOT go against him?

I think privately all the Republicans are money-driven, grifting and not-so-much-into their constituents and that will melt them down for sure! The trail of traitorship these people leave behind, like Lindsay Graham, are a waste-of-space!

I wish someone could explain to me what the people of South Carolina see in Graham. Do they not see his deceit? Are they okay with seeing the chaos our government is in for the second time? Do they not see where the economy is at right now? They were complaining about prices when Biden was in office. Now the economy is even worse.

well that's what they're doing but of course they're not supposed to do that. the only reason we think they'e gutless sycophants is because the democrats are kind of joining in with that. throwing up their hands and being the totally ineffective lumps that got us here in the first place. if they're not going to fight for us then I certainly see how people think congress is useless. so far they are.

The congress is in charge of the 'purse of money', all allocations have to go thru them. Impeachments too, and more.

In all fairness to the SC, of whose members I am not a fan of in whole, they cannot initiate lawsuits. Those must come from elsewhere.

Yes, as a Canadian I loved Al Green and the lady with the little sign, "this is not normal"!

Yes, bring Washington to a full stop flooded with protesters! The Democrats need to GOFund a protest page-bring every major city to a halt!!

This is the correct answer. Just like Debbie up there said." We got to go elbow to elbow with them." We MUST be stronger this time around. I know many of you have never gone through something like this before, possibly. WE MUST FIGHT PEACEFULLY. We must stand up to the bullies. Thank you MTN for everything you do.

The Dems don't need to GoFund anything. As a group, they have millions to spend. If they care about democracy, let them spend their money rather than take more of ours.

I wonder if Canada and Mexico are strategizing together behind the scenes and arrived at this “good cop / bad cop” scenario. This way they can conduct experiments and see what works on the lab rat.

The strategy is simple....punch the bully back hard in the face!!!! That is universal and no strategy/experiments needed........stop wasting time wondering........and do something to save your democracy.......no wonder you guys are in so much trouble.

I'd love some feed back concerning exactly what the Dems can do. The world leaders standing up to trump have some power but I don't know what power the Dems have. I'd like to have ideas that I can suggest to both the DNC and others who are standing up and who might be considering doing something.

I just wrote a letter to the DNC on that topic and hope others do too. A few excerpts:

... You are not reaching the voters you will need to win in 2026. You MUST hire a savvy professional to take charge of your messaging, and I know who that is: Ron Filipkowski, the editor in chief of the Meidas Touch Network, which has been beating -- for WEEKS -- all YouTube channels, including Fox, MSNBC, CNN, CBS, ABC, NBC, and recently even Joe Rogan.

... You need to consult with him, LISTEN to what he says, and form an effective response and strategic plan for the Dems to implement IN UNISON. Ron does a Wed. podcast -- Uncovered -- with Anthony Davis, who hails from the UK, where he consulted with politicians on public relations before coming to the US. Please listen to their 3-5-25 podcast to learn how you could have planned a better resistance to Trump's speech to Congress than the Dems' feckless and disorganized attempts.

... You have once again installed establishment old guard dems to lead the party; that is a recipe for disaster. You seem to have no clue what you are dealing with here: a tech takeover of our personal and govt. data, a senile old man who has turned the presidency over to a lawless liar from the Nerd Reich (if you don't know what that is, look it up on Substack or YouTube), a Nazi party that has ceded its congressional power to a de facto king, and shocking breaches of our top secret files, which are being shared with our worst enemies, including Russia and China.

Every single person in the administration is either a crook, fraud, convicted criminal, sexual predator, drunk, incompetent, or all of those put together. You cannot resort to old rules that no longer apply.

... You must organize public resistance and support NOW, not six months before the election. Also, since almost all our politicians are clueless about tech, please listen to and consult Kara Swisher and Scott Galloway. ... The most effective weapon you have now is PEOPLE power and you are not harnessing it.
