I hear you and certainly understand. Sadly, the WaPo is my “hometown paper”, along with the Annapolis “Crapitol”. I may subscribe to the Baltimore Banner, as it is not owned by insane billionaires, but I don’t live in Baltimore, so there is that. I do mostly rely on the Meidas Touch+ Network for news about this administration, however, along with posts and YouTube videos by Brian Tyler Cohen, and the affiliates for the MTN+.
Yes, the plethora of good sources of journalistic and legal information on Substack, and on YouTube, are godsends in this era of disinformation and propaganda from "legacy" news sources. If not for these, I might have gone mad long since (and I mean "mad" as in "insane")
Ron Filipkowski's daily updates are a must read. Otherwise, I would be losing my mind ... more than I am already. I just can't devour the news like I used to before the election.
I get my news from TMT+, Brian Tyler Cohen, Marc elias and others. The only reason I keep the WaPo is because it's my "hometown" paper...but as time progresses, I maystill cancel my subscription. I am already finding alternative shopping venues than Amazon, and am likely to do the same with my news sources soon. Voting with my dollars...

Brian Tyler Cohen is great. I can't really listen to all the really good journalists on Substack. It's great that we have many to choose from now.
