No amount of whining will convince non-MAGA Americans that we’re winning anything. We just need to win in November, and bigly.

We will 💙💙💙💙💙

Every single morning we wake up to some new outrage. This time it’s trying to sell off a piece of Yosemite. We hope California Attorney General Rob Bonta and the entire state of California will be defending Yosemite against this land grab.

Wendy B.'s avatar

Hey Californians: did you see what the Albanians did when the Trump crime family tried to take a piece of their land? I hope to see a similar response to Trump trying to take a piece of Yosemite.

Linda (Evanston IL)'s avatar

The Flamingo Revolution in Albania. The Grizzly Bear is the mascot for California. This could work out well for us. 🐻🐻🐻

Yes, Nothing is sacred to Trump. He is so self-absorbed and only has a thirst for power and Grift! I am voting for the National Parks to win. Can't wait till his "reign" is over.

Ansel Adams is rolling over in his grave!

And John Muir. Muir Woods is just beautiful. Massive redwoods under covered with huge ferns.

Leslie Tremaine's avatar

I live about a mile from the John Muir House in Martinez, Ca. We treasure John Muir as a man who cared for the land. And lived where he planted his roots.

Our Calif. administration and citizens will fight for John Muir’s treasure and Ansel Adams love of Yosemite.

Quick update, okay, seems innocuous, safe…eee-gads! Blindsided!

Venezuela oil… ok, treading lightly… EXXON, conjures up the Valdez catastrophe. Deep breath, cautiously continuing, “Freedom Gas” - well that’s got trumps name all over it. Bigly sigh.

Trump Wants a Piece of Yosemite whoa whoa… wait WTF!?!?! bridge WAY TOO FAR!! Blaring alarms with immediate increase in blood pressure…nearing a full blown panic attack! AAOOOGGGAAAAA! NNNOOOOOOOO!!! Abandon ship!

I’ve hiked up into Yosemite National Park a few times. It’s absolutely stunning and “sacred” land! I’ve stood breathless under the sequoias, even hugged a few. General Sherman lives there. He’s between 2,200 to 2,700 years old and about 275 feet tall!

Of course, trump “cannot unilaterally sell, lease, or subcontract any portion of Yosemite National Park to a private contractor for oil extraction.” But as we’ve been witnessing for over a year, (feels like eternity) when has he ever let a silly thing like the constitution, the rule of law or congressional approval/authority stand in the way of destroying whatever he wants, whenever he wants to do it! Not to mention the American people. And CALIFORNIA? No friggin’ way. Have at it, Gavin!

( Seriously. UNCLE, Enough. I need to lie down…)

Putin is giving 47 a primer on how to destroy the democratic system and to recreate it as a petrol oligarchy. And the corporate world and the media, as well as the Republican party are aiding and abetting him in so doing.

We have a chance this November to stop them, but each and every one of us who is eligible to vote must do so.

Digby2035's avatar

A petro oligarchy when the world except America is going green led by China seems a bit like investing in buggy whips

Nicole Koretsky's avatar

Phew, you nailed that metaphor. ☝️

Marina Hart's avatar

Thank you! This couldn't be a more accurate statement!

This is exactly why Trump aligns himself with dictators!

Trump’s corruption is overwhelming. Basically stealing Venezuela’s oil and giving away pieces of OUR national parks. And that’s just yesterday. Venezuelan oil is not going to lead to lower gas prices at the pump. It’s heavy crude that’s not refined into gas for our cars. Another bunch of bullshit from the Bullshit King.

Maria Machado -- if you're listening, would you please consider repossessing your Nobel Prize? We won't even say we told you so.

Digby2035's avatar

Isn't America Great now?

OMG. Can’t take all the winning - LOL ! ! !

And, our share of the 19 trillion in money coming to the US is on the way. Just wait, you'll be happy like no one ever thought possible

The Golden Age looks more like a lead balloon

It's in the mail. Along with the DOGE taxpayer refund, taxpayers' share of the tariff revenue, the yuge middle class tax cut, and the absolutely ZERO federal income tax on social security income.

Off topic:

To all the trumplican politicians and associates publicly memorializing Dolly Parton and praising her kindness, generosity, and overall humanity while being the polar opposite of Ms Parton, please note that you get no credit for your attempts at virtue by association.

If anything, it's the ultimate reveal -- the contrast in her life and ideology versus yours. And it's not flattering.

You might want to sit this one out.

Slight correction, the Valero refineries in the south can refine this stuff, they have been doing it for some time. Also, the CITGO brand was owned by Venezuela, the country was refining and selling this pudding-like crude. I am pretty sure they have 3 refineries, one in Illinois.

Linda (Evanston IL)'s avatar

There is a CITGO refinery in Lemont, Illinois. Wonder if the current regime will try to grab it.

"the devastation being felt in Mamdani’s NYC"; let me guess, she has a second home in NYC and is mad they are trying to tax her so they can pay for daycare and children's healthcare?

Angie's avatar

If ever it was time for an old man's time to run out, it's now. Why do we ALL have to suffer along with that rotting old racist trashy piece of shit? Fuck him.

Angie, My sentiments exactly! 🦋✌🏽💙🍀

Investing in extracting and refining the sludge they have in Venezeula seems as stupid as investing in coal mining. Green energy is the future. Who wants to be dependent on a grid fueled by oil that has to get past Iran in the Middle East when you can suck energy right out of the sun, wherever you are? Not to mention climate change. Did you see what happened in Nepal? That is climate change, and it's just going to get worse if we don't get off the fossil fuels.

No matter what Trump has his corrupt hands on, we can rest assured that it is illegal, underhanded and will only benefit himself and his family.

All these mock threats against other countries, save Iran, infantile name changes to lakes and The Gulf, are his pathetic and deranged attempts to divert our attention from demanding the release of all the Epstein files and the deplorable conditions of our Navy/Military.

We The People have a super power, our VOTE! Vote out every House and Senate MAGA! 🌊💙🗽⚖️🇺🇲

Karen Rivera's avatar

Yes! Vote Blue in numbers too big to dispute or deny.

Agree 💯with your first sentence. But these are NOT mock threats

Ronna McDaniel doesn't know much, but she is right in sounding the alarm on Piker and anyone associated with him, though not for the reasons she states. Piker is so out on the fringe that he is a danger to a Dem takeover of the Senate. If Abdul El-Sayed does not immediately rebuke and distance himself from Piker, there is no chance of his winning a Senate seat. Without Michigan, it's highly unlikely Dems will be in the majority. Sure, great, stand on your elitist principles -- like "We go high" Michelle -- but when it comes to getting what's best for MOST Americans, be prepared to come down to earth.

bitchybitchybitchy's avatar

Thr only reason that bought and paid for troll McDaniel mentioned Piker is distraction from Trump.

Karen Rivera's avatar

Whatever is necessary to take the focus off Dear Corrupt, Lying, Thieving, Morally, and 6x financially bankrupt, Fascist Leader and his ilk.

G B's avatar

El-Sayed is going to win in Michigan anyways because El-Sayed is going to destroy Rodgers in any and all debates. Anyone that doesn't think debates matter anymore I can just point out Joe Biden isn't president right now!

Karen Q's avatar

What has he said lately that is so fringe?

Linda (Evanston IL)'s avatar

Thank you Ben and all of Meidas. This Venezuelan oil deal is very complicated. Most voters are not even going to understand this at all, especially illiterate magas who only watch Fox News. It’s a scam, a land grab like you reported. The Freedom Gas Stations cheating. Weren’t those only in Florida?

We ordered your book weeks ago.

Yosemite National Park is NOT the only place where the tRump Regime is trying to do this kind of B***s***. “The Regime “ is also trying to give (sell?) many acres of near-wilderness land in NM and UT for extraction industry development. Chaco Canyon, Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante are under threat of privatizing up to 90% of their current acreage. This includes land sacred to Native American peoples. The private development likely to occur will almost certainly cause permanent, non-reversible damage.

Write (or ResistBot) to your Congress persons to act ASAP to prevent the loss of these lands from the people.

Todd J Koehl's avatar

Excellent as always. Thank you for all you do, have done, and will continue to do.

In Trump’s sad little microscopic brain, all oil is ready to go from the ground into your car’s gas tank. He also thinks the oil he bought/claimed will quickly, in weeks not years, resupply our reserves. And I bet no one in his cabinet corrected him.

Robot Bender's avatar

Well, I'm sure he's never pumped gas in his life.

Karen Rivera's avatar

Just like all the disastrous beautification projects, he never plans and researches, never consults actual experts. Just raises his little tiny hand and says, "I want", and babbles on in superlatives about it.
