I email my GOP Congressman Juan Ciscomani regularly and am on his mailing list. Two weeks ago, I happened to glance at my email at 6:20 pm to see that his office had sent a message that his “phone in town hall” had been set for 6:15 pm. Like NOW. Still I called in and listened as people were allowed to voice their question, were then silenced while Ciscomani gave a smooth, pat answer. And there was no response allowed from the questioner, move on to the next question please.
The final question was about the unelected Musk and why does someone who has not been elected have such power. Another smooth answer about how a President has the right to appoint “special advisors” and those people aren’t elected. Yuck.
It’s been an internal struggle. I became a US citizen last year after being green card for 21 years. So that I could vote. I also hold Canadian and Irish citizenships but my husband and grandchildren are US citizens and live here. My husband would happily leave, he hates what the US has become but we aren’t well to do, would need every penny from selling our house and then some to leave. He is 76 I am about to turn 73.
