Please keep PHONING your red state reps and senator. People who do public advocacy say that this is the most effective high impact way to contact them because every single call is separately logged.
In general, all they care about is getting reelected. When they get a lot of calls day after day, telling them that you are disappointed in them and will not be voting for them unless they do XY or Z, they get worried and they do change their behavior.
Download the free, non profit app 5calls.org to make the whole thing easy and quick. After you put in your zip code, it automatically locates numbers for your elected representatives. It will dial them for you, one after another. You will generally get a voicemail. One woman said that between the time she started to set it up, and finished the 5th call, only 6 minutes had elapsed.
5calls also has scripts and talking points about key issues. Or you can say whatever you choose, or take advice from a pro-democracy group you join with.
If you are from a blue state, or if your reps are doing a good job, it's still important to call. They will be getting flack for it and so they need to know their constituents back them up. And we can also be saying " Great job on the __ vote today, but We need you to __ on this [other issue]."
Thank you for sending emails. You can have a critical impact because your senator sounds like one of the Nazis who have ceded their legislative powers to a known tyrant. I've been advised that the best way to contact elected representatives is to call, and do it every day on a different, specific topic (i.e., do NOT confirm Kash Patel to head the FBI. If he's approved, free speech, a free press, and our national security will be destroyed.) It seems a small thing, but if many do the same it becomes huge. Also recommended to me: go to their office with a group of people if possible, record the visit on your phone, and post it on social media.
JDHitler pulled that speech out of Gobbels garbage can............that was worse than the smell of Diaper Dons bucket full of full/overflowing used Depends!!!!
Keep emailing your senator. I live in Ohio, and sadly all three members of congress are republicons, (including a newly-elected one who used to be a used car salesman who won by following Dumpster in spewing hate and fear against transgender people and immigrants). (Now we have a new lieutenant governor, a washed up former OSU football coach, who probably will end up as the next governor because people in Ohio are stupid with Buckeye fever.)
Start running for those PUBLIC SEATS! We have too many "career politicians" which is NOT how its supposed to be! "We the people" need to be more involved!
So sad but your quite right, but what can we do, My state glows red, I send 10 emails to a senator with no guts, what to do.
