Cheers for Meidas Touch and the Meiselas brothers!! You made my day!!
Would like to see a Mark Cuban interview with you guys, including asking him to respond to the comment from Libbey Dem (below) about "literal scam" businesses. I've been impressed with his Cost Plus Drugs Company mission, which seems like a huge public service and innovative solution to outrageous drug prices in the US: https://www.costplusdrugs.com/mission/
He writes that he donated 10,000 tablets of Albendazole to treat hookworm in the US South and that it costs him $26.08 per course. How many tablets in a course? let's be generous and say it was 10,000 courses which would come out to $260,000. For Mark Cuban who is a billionaire $260,000 is like $20 for an average American. And then he charges 15% overhead to keep the lights on. He could easily fund the thing and make it absolutely free. That is what he should do that is what anybody with morals would do.
What makes you think that billionaires have to finance everything? Sounds like envy to me. He is actually doing some good in this world. I think certain tax avoidance strategies should be eliminated, and I think people should be paying their fair share of taxes. But let’s not bash, please the ultra wealthy who actually do some good.
He could make all the medicine that he offers through cost plus drugs 100% free and he would not be any less wealthy. Having so much money when so many people have so little is obscene and immoral.
His net worth is 5.7 billion. That is so much money that it is hard to understand how much more it is than the average person's net worth. If you earned a dollar a second it would take you 10 days to become a millionaire, 31 years to become a billionaire and 180 years to earn 5.7 billion
Good points, but it's worth noting that most of these billionaires and plutocrats didn't "earn" their billions. In a country with sane tax laws, a strong labor movement, and an engaged citizenry, we would have far fewer billionaires and our democracy would not be under attack by the ultra-rich and their Republican Party puppets.
we should have no billionaires not fewer because as you said no billionaire (or even a multimillionaire) ever earns their wealth. they steal it legally. extraction and exploitation are baked in. One does not need to be a business owner to understand that you would never hire someone and pay them more than the value of what they produced as you would be losing money. You would also never pay them exactly how much they produced because why would you put in all that effort to hire, train and support them if it did not make you more money or the potential for more money. You systematically and legally pay them less than what they produce, that is literally how capitalists create "profit" and "value".
The whole idea behind democracy is that the public good should not depend on the largesse of the unelected ultra-wealthy (or hereditary rulers, who often are, or become, ultra-wealthy as well as ultra-powerful). One or two or three philanthropic, pro-democracy billionaires doesn't change that.
Of course not. People think he’s a genius but he isn’t. He has bought into companies which other people have made successful and buys more of these companies and then ousts the originals.
You would be wrong. He has several "companies" or projects that are literal scams like NFTs where he's raking in the money and people are losing their life savings while he claims (like Musk) that he doesn't have anything to do with said projects or companies.
I just posted a video and tagged Cuban on BlueSky.
Google it? Meaning you have none and you are crying cult. Cult is a serious term. You need to be more informed before you spout nonsense on here. This is not X.
Not saying you are wrong as I have not yet checked every available source. But you are not informed
I don't use Google. They track you. I spend 14 hours every day researching and confirming with reliable sources. I have plenty of time between chemo and radiation treatments. I have never been on x, nor would i. To tell you the truth, I'm not even sure what your point is. Don't see where cult comes in, unless you are referring to tRump. If you use Google, may I inform you about duckduckgo? Totally private search. I've been researching since 2015.
God, just google it. I listened to him talk about it on some interview. Please don't create s cult around another billionaire. We don't hate him. He's just not that great. He should favor universal health care.
Scott Galloway is another wealthy entrepreneur, philanthropist and professor who believes he should pay more in taxes. I was impressed when I first heard him on an Al Franken podcast and he has a couple of his own. He makes a lot of sense.
cool, Mark's probably one of the top rich people that I can still believe in he seems to do things pretty honorably if you ask me
Also Warren Buffett is a decent rich human..

Do you think Elon has ever done any of that ?
Of course not. People think he’s a genius but he isn’t. He has bought into companies which other people have made successful and buys more of these companies and then ousts the originals.
He supports Trump taking advantage of Ukraine, totally normalizing him.
