Meidas Exposes How Trump May Be Cooking the Books on JOBS
The regime lies about everything—so is it really a stretch to believe that they're lying about the jobs numbers, too?
By Ben Meiselas
Let’s not beat around the bush. Donald Trump is lying to your face. Again.
In the span of just a few days, we got hammered with one piece of bad news after another: inflation creeping up, the private sector losing 33,000 jobs according to ADP, Trump’s trade war failing miserably, and confirmation that his reckless actions in the Middle East didn’t even accomplish their stated goal (Iran is closer than ever to obtaining nuclear weapons).
So what does Trump do? What he always does. He lies. He commits fraud. He manipulates the numbers and expects everyone to play along. And then, just to top it off, he announces he’s having a cozy little chat with Vladimir Putin. Because of course.
Now let me walk you through the scam.
Trump’s regime claims 147,000 jobs were added in June—“shattered expectations,” they say. But how is that possible when ADP, which holds the actual payroll data for the private sector, says we lost 33,000 jobs and expected to gain 100,000? Where is Trump magically finding 147,000 new jobs?
I'll tell you where: the same fantasyland he’s been living in his whole life. When you dig into the data, you see that Trump’s so-called “job gains” are almost entirely from public education hiring. In June. When schools are closed.
Seriously, they want us to believe there was a public education hiring spree in the middle of summer, at a time when they’re gutting the Department of Education and firing career civil servants. It doesn’t add up, unless you’re just making it up.
This is Trump’s M.O. He’s a convicted felon, a con man, and a lifelong grifter. He inflates numbers, invents valuations, lies to banks, lies to the public—and now, he’s using the levers of government to do the same.
And let’s be clear about who benefits from this mess: not the imaginary 29-year-old living in his mom’s basement that Republicans love to vilify. No, the real winners are the billionaires getting tax cuts and shopping for their sixth yacht while millions of Americans lose healthcare and struggle to make rent.
These MAGA Republicans marched into the White House pretending to oppose Trump’s disastrous budget bill. They walked out with free MAGA merch, took selfies with Trump, and immediately flipped their votes, throwing 17 million Americans off their healthcare in the process. They sold out for a hat and a photo op.
And now they expect us to swallow phony job numbers and just move on? No chance.
I’ll say it plainly: Trump is running a con on the American people. And I’m not going to let him get away with it. Here at MeidasTouch, we’re calling it out—every lie, every scam, every attack on our democracy and working families.

Never forget how many government workers are unemployed. My partner lost her DEI civil service job because of the fascists. Now we may lose our healthcare too due to the big ugly bill. My colleagues and I will do everything we can to resist from within the government. We are gathering evidence of the many crimes committed by the Orange felon’s minions: https://democracydefender2025.substack.com/p/dei-public-servant-fired
Of course they're lying. It makes no sense that jobs are climbing. The opposite is true.
