Crimes of Big Money in Politics

🔸Endless war in every country for endless profit

🔸Endless destruction of the environment for endless profit

🔸Endlessly pit society against itself to hide in plain sight for endless profit

"Consequences of Capitalism", Noam Chomsky, Preface

Endless war is clearly what Trump wants in Ukraine. By weakening Ukraine and empowering dictator Putin (who wants to restore the former USSR territory, against the will of its citizens), he GUARANTEES that Putin will continue to fight. As French President Macron said, what democratic Europe wants is REAL PEACE. The only way to achieve it when a brutal dictator militarily invades your country is to fight back until he's defeated.

I think trump is in big trouble with his backers in the MIC(Military Industrial Complex)because the US is the #1 Arms Dealer in the world, or rather we were. Countries cancelling F-35 buys[Lockheed Martin, Northrop-Grumman and BAE Systems]are going to hurt the stockholders of those companies, along with making the rest of the MIC very nervous because Arms sales depend on demonstrations showing how great our war toys are, which means wars. trump trying to give Ukraine to Putin is really going to piss off trumps backers in the MIC as Ukraine was making great commercials for our war toys

Unless America's neofascists, who already ideologically agree (and met with) Putin's palace ideologue, Alexander Dugin, make a deal with Putin to arm him in return for his support of the military expansion of the US territory...

This is what happens when a man of very little brain destroys trust in America, deserts his allies, and breaks negotiated treaties ... including his OWN with Canada and Mexico.

So when are these companies gonna rise up and bring him to heel? The silence from corporate America is deafening and disgraceful.

I think Trump's downfall will be that many Congressional Republicans did not sign up to be members of the axis of evil.

I think it takes a lot of negotiating. The least common denominator is national security. On Friday, Heather Cox Richardson documented that Mike Turner (R.AL) and Roger Wicker (R. MS) complained about National Security. Lots more have called Trump a liar on Putin/Ukraine. I published the letter I got from Rick Scott. Thom Tillis. Murkowski. Many more.

They are still Republicans. The main issue is National Security. Jerry Weiss has identified a number fof candidates and we have 3 Cuban American MAGATs here who have recently discovered they are DEI and many of their donors and consituents are upset. We have more Canadians here that some Canadian provinces -- most with dual citizenship.

Hoefully behind the scenes there is discussion about shared government. Only takes 3 in the House. Hakim Jeffries can offer chairmanships of key committees to Republicans.

Huh! One has a problem with that, judging by the way our Congressmen GROVEL under the foot of this autocrat.

I remember how the South was changed from BLUE to RED overnight in 1965 when the Equal Rights Amendment was passed.

What I hope will soon happen, is the South once again will overnight change from RED to BLUE.

It happened before, like magic.....and now I pray it will come to pass once again. It's been a long time since I felt I lived in a Democracy in Alabama.

Daniel, thank you for speaking up. NO, I did not see what he said, but will look for it. There is NO NEWS source locally in Mobile that I am aware of.....and I rely on the podcasts like MTN to keep up with politics. We won't go further down that road.....not now. But the Reds seem all alike keeping constituents in the dark.

At my age, so I thought, "there is little I can do." But, looking through the names of Ala Congressmen, I ran across a first cousin who was an adult when I was a small CHILD....and I am 87! So how OLD IS LACEY ADERHOLT? Wow. No way am I too old if he is still a Congressman from the great state of Alabama??????? Seventh District, I believe.....northern part of the state....Winston and Walker Counties.

And, I wish to point out, WINSTON COUNTY SECEDED FROM THE CONFEDERACY during the Civil War. Similarly, a county in a couple of other states did the same thing. Those were the states where my people settled, in those counties. NOT slave owners, most got their land from the Fed Govt instead of wages for fighting in the War of 1812. Yep. So, taking action goes beyond what is convenient.

The idea that they were drafted into the axis of evil is different. https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2025/02/republicans-dictator-putin-ukraine/681841/

That is the only common issue. Ernst was a mlitary officer. On that issue, she will admit that Putin is a war criminal and that we shouldn't support him. https://www.ernst.senate.gov/news/press-releases/ernst-leads-calls-for-sanctions-on-putin-led-group-cronies-attempting-to-assassinate-ukrainian-president-zelenskyy

Grassley is completely duplicitious but he and Ernst have lost millions in crop subsiudies. The cattle industry is in panic. Same for corn farmers who used to sell to China. Same for car dealers. Same for the research departments at state schools. Etc. If their donors and constiutuents complain, they may salute the same flag the rest of us do.

Ernst voted for that clueless drunk Nazi Hegseth; she's a coward and is not doing her job. You are wasting your time on these hypocrites. When their constituents complain, they run and hide claiming attendees are all left wing radicals. They will only change their spots if the power shifts to someone else; they have no moral compass and no conscience when it's really needed. You can lose your reputation in one day, but it will take decades to get it back.

Under pressure, they may have an attitude adjustment. If we don't pressure them, it's on us.

DOGE is closing 7 Federal offices in Iowa. Thousands of jobs will be lost. Research will be ended at Iowa universities.

The real power is Grassley's wife, and his grandson, Pat, is the speaker of the Iowa House. They have 5 kids, all losing big time because of Trump policy. https://www.opensecrets.org/personal-finances/chuck-grassley/net-worth?cid=N00001758. Gutless wonders all!

I regard any so-called Republican who pretends they didn't sign up for this yet refuses to vote or publicly speak against it (and that means ALL OF THEM) to be just as guilty of destroying trust and our democracy as are Cap'n Bone Spurs, Musk, and his entire administration. People like that are no different from the German politicians who allowed Hitler to seize power.

You are deluding yourself if you think they will ever rise up against this tyrannical regime. They voted for him knowing full well who he was, what he was gonna do, and that he was a convicted felon, fraud, sexual predator, demented old man, and stupid, ignorant fool.

That said, I hope you're right, but wouldn't bet one penny on it.

Yeah, how about them? The only people who are working for them are DEMOCRATS and INDEPENDENTS. This is a coup by the MAGA party. You're dreaming if you think it's still a "traditional" or functional democracy. The red party IS the axis of evil and they love Putin. Judge them by their votes and support for their self proclaimed emperor, who speaks Russian talking points and treated Zelenskyy in a disgraceful manner.

Your post reads like you think election advertising is just fine the way it is. If you have a better solution to how election funding is run, please let us know. My ideas are: 1. remove Citizens United and the huge funds provided by billionaires. 2. Get control of lobbyists and how they interact with elected officials and judges. 3. Pay Congress and the president 15 times more than they are paid now and have Cost Of Living Adjustment yearly using the same numbers as Social Security uses. 4. Control meetings with lobbyists by mandatory recordings. 5. Use the same pay adjustment for federal judges.

"Why Do People Stay in Controlling Groups?"

by Cult Expert Dr. Steven Hassan

🔸️A cult leader demands loyalty and offers love, protection, and purpose so followers feel safe and valued.

🔸️Question or step away from a cult leader and that love turns into rejection.

🔸️True love allows freedom, doubt, and independence. If leaving a group feels like betraying a parent, it may be manipulation, not love.

🔸️Understanding this emotional control is the first step to breaking free!
