We beat all of the top right-wing podcasts combined. Now on to my urgent message…

I’ve seen the ridiculous narratives resurface again all week that the “left” needs to find its Joe Rogan and that donors need to throw millions of dollars to create a left-wing Joe Rogan.

I think that narrative is complete nonsense and a waste of time. It’s dangerous and stupid.

The MeidasTouch Network has zero outside investors. We are funded by subscribers to this Substack. We beat Joe Rogan by three times the downloads. We beat him and all the right-wing podcasts because we aren’t like them. We don’t need to emulate them. They are bad people. They lie and deceive and spread conspiracies and demean and divide. They are misogynistic, xenophobic, and punch down at marginalized communities. They launder lies for the oligarch class. They aren’t cool. They are weak and pathetic people who “hijack cool” with their fraud. I have no interest in being anything like that.

The left doesn’t need our own Joe Rogan. We just need people who listen to the plight of the people and fight for them. We don’t need catchy phrases or marketing lingo or studies on masculinity. That’s ridiculous. What we need is simple.

We need to make sure people can afford housing and pay their rent. We need to understand that living paycheck to paycheck is a form of psychological torture. We need to understand that people should get free healthcare. People should get free top-level education. We need to tax the rich. We need to respect the sovereignty of other nations. We need to understand that diversity is a strength. We need to uplift—not punch down on—marginalized communities. We need to protect the climate and the environment. We need to stand up for women’s reproductive rights. We need to understand that empathy is a powerful thing and doesn’t show weakness. And we need to appreciate the importance of democracy. I can go on and on.

But the solution is not chasing and emulating bad people like Joe Rogan who have hurt this country.

The solution is standing firm behind the values and principles that lead to a better, healthier, more prosperous, and more peaceful world FOR ALL. We should not be shills for the elites who screw us all.

In addition to the MeidasTouch Network, there are a lot of great creators with huge followings who support democracy and get far more views than the right-wing filth by staying true to their values. The list of these pro-democracy creators is too numerous to list here, but you all know who they are since they frequently appear with us on MeidasTouch and they are in our extended crew, who we try to use our platform to amplify.

So enough of this crap about a left-wing Rogan. We are kicking Rogan’s ass and we aren’t sacrificing a scintilla of our values. Let’s just go out and listen and be caring and responsible people. Let’s follow logic and science and data. Let’s not be afraid to call out lies and fraud and fight back against authoritarians and bullies. That’s a simple and winning formula.

I can go on and on, but you get my point here. We are trying to walk the walk by building this network where we’ve had zero investors and where we’ve used the massive platform to always stay true and highlight the issues and stories that matter most to you.
