Some days I feel we are losing the battle for our country. I live in an area full of magas where healthcare is touch and go, and I see poverty all around me. I donated to the ACLU, meidas touch network & NYU Just Security. I went to a march and stood out in the rain, holding my resist banner, and ended up with pneumonia. I call and text my maga representative daily to express my outrage. I sign every petition that protests this corrupt regime. I post daily on news feeds with my words of protest & hope.
I got rid of my TV two years ago because I got so sick of hearing corporate media spin. I depend upon You Tube, MTN, Bulwark, Tom Miller, Lincoln Project, Popok & Kirschner to give me the daily rundown. I get asked 10 times a day for money because Citizens United destroyed the people's ability to carry any weight in our government, leaving all the power in the hands of oligarchs.
We're watching Trump & oligarchs enrich themselves while legislating to destroy our healthcare, science, children's future, environment, education, immigrants & sitting back while people starve & die in Gaza and Ukraine.
We are a nation who fell in love with celebrity, and fell asleep at the wheel while the rich and famous now control everything. Our Democrats are guilty of complacency, sitting idly by, allowing the maga movement to take control of everything we have ever worked for and opening the door to fascism and a mad king.
