Ben, I’m pretty devastated right now. I don’t want to ever pay attention to anything. I have no desire or will to be involved. The people of this nation elected a nazi/fascist. Please, if you can stand it, continue fighting for democracy. Please continue the fight against the media created demagogues. I’ll continue to be a patron. I just retired from teaching and feel that I have wasted my life. I taught history and warned the students against electing a nazi/hitler and explaining all of the issues. All to no avail., they elected a nazi.
There are more of us than there are of them. In this election, 60 million registered voters did not vote at all. The Democratic party shifting messages and policies to be closer to Bernie's will help bring in enough of these non-voters to sustain democracy.
As a history teacher, you did not waste your time. You were part of bringing facts to students. That had to be done, in this digital age where people get saturated with falsehoods. Do take a break and take care of yourself. There's work to do, but it is not urgent. Take some days and weeks.
I have watched your really helpful video this evening (I’m in Scotland at present so it’s 23:00 here). You have helped me and my family enormously . We really appreciate how you talked in such a gentle, fair, truthful, encouraging yet positive manner . I like also that you all (all three brothers) encouraged people to feel free with their emotions. That support really helps.
I’m shocked, distraught and temporarily down with all this , but it won’t last as we must keep fighting. And we must not fall into the trap of pointing fingers which is of no use at all.
I have been sending your amazing interviews, podcasts and talks around the WORLD to the great many people I know.

Well you ARE the only news outlet that I trust.
Even the newspapers in the U.K. are hopeless … with the exception of the Guardian (which is from Manchester).
Although I feel as though we’ve all been punched in the stomach, I have taken strength from your wisdom and wise words. We must not let America be abandoned by all its BEST PEOPLE! The fight might take longer, but it must continue.
I’ll send some blue hearts and stars to keep the light shining even at night and hope that you and your entire family will all look after yourselves too.
The UK will be called upon to accept political asylum seekers from America once Trumps regime starts engaging in atrocities (and they surely will). Will the UK help or turn us away? I know all about the Kinder Transport but no adults were accepted. Is the world ready to help us in our hour of need? Or will we be turned away as well?
Well I believe a lot of U.K. citizens would happily help and give political asylum seekers from the U.S. This IS an atrocious result also for them. It’s the decent and humane thing to do.
