I won't be watching, either. You should stream an MLK Jr. speech instead. Not "I have a dream," but one of his seldom played speeches like the ones about authoritarianism and white supremacy.

Great idea! It’s a travesty that this inaugural farce is taking place on the day we SHOULD be honoring Rev Martin Luther King, Jr.

My birthday happens to be on the 20th. I am not celebrating my birthday this year; I am celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King.

Please still make your birthday about you as well... It's YOUR day and he's taken so much from us already, you deserve to celebrate you.💙

Love this idea! Let’s make MLK Day overshadow the inauguration. Wouldn’t it be cool if all anti-Trumpers boycotted the inauguration and watched MLK programming?

I think Kay has a fabulous idea. What can we dig up honoring Martin Luther King and his struggles against white supremacy and racism. This would be perfect alternate programming to earn viewership instead of the inauguration.

Best idea! I'm going to see if there's a MLK documentary I can watch. Leave my tv on that channel whether I'm home or not. Definitely counter programming!

The complete "I have a Dream Speech" is never read. The full text of the speech is well worth reading aloud to America. It talks about a long overdue promissory note that is overdue to our Black brothers and Sisters. Amen to that.

I love the idea of the most streamed YouTube video on Inauguration Day being medias doing coverage on great MLK speeches

Maybe include snippets from his speeches in our posts ..? Anything that shows MLK is much more important to us than djt could ever be.

MTN makes very good programming decisions. This is the best suggestion I’ve seen. Would rather hear something inspirational from a true leader like Dr. King than watch the circus come home to DC.

I agree with you!! That sounds like a much better way to spend the day. I'm glad I only have my phone bc I can put my phone down with out upsetting anyone else in my household.
