MeidasTouch Sunday Message from Ben

Hey everybody, this is Ben Meiselas, co-founder of the MeidasTouch Network, here with another Sunday message. I had my coffee already, so now I’m having lunch, and I’m hoping you will have lunch with me, or dinner, depending on when you’re reading this, or even dessert if you’re reading this in Europe. It’s great to be here with everybody on this Sunday.

And I say this despite all the horrible things happening in our country and the world: I feel more confident than ever in the pro-democracy forces and in the strength of this movement. I see the utter weakness of Donald Trump grow weaker and weaker each day as the strength of our movement grows stronger.

If you look at Donald Trump flailing in the White House, in Bedminster, at his Virginia golf course, you see a really weak and diminished person who’s truly terrified as he’s dealing with the reckoning that the midterms are right around the corner, right? Before you know it, we’re going to be in September and in that 60-day period right before the midterms.

And it’s been incredible seeing these new political stars, a lot of them who are my age or even younger, really rising up right now.

I mean, how about Abdul El-Sayed beginning this campaign for the general election with power? That speech he gave with Pete Buttigieg that we covered on the MeidasTouch Network, which got millions of views, was incredible.

And you saw Donald Trump posting him and Melania and trying to contrast it with Abdul El-Sayed and Abdul’s wife, saying there’s one America and here’s another America.

Abdul’s comeback was basically: Sure done, there’s the America of Donald and Melania, where people hate each other and make life worse, compared to an America where people love each other and want a better tomorrow, like me and my wife who met in Michigan. I guess there are two different Americas right here, and that’s what’s at stake.

I mean, when you see James Talarico’s campaign and how incredible he’s been, he’s running a great campaign in Texas, and we’ve been covering his speeches.

Then I did an interview yesterday, did you catch it, with the Democratic candidate for governor there, Gina Hinojosa? She’s incredible also, and I really appreciated her campaign and thought she was very impressive.

Donald Trump looks panicked right now. You can see it in his posts, the constant barrage of AI images, which is weird behavior, man. It’s really strange to see. I think Americans are just sick and tired of the criming, the nastiness, the hate, the weirdness, the division, the culture wars.

People see what’s happening. You’ve got Trump and his rich oligarch friends trying to put data centers in everybody’s backyard, screwing everybody over, destroying people’s lives, while they manipulate the markets.

People see it, and they want to know who’s fighting for them. Who’s listening to them? That’s the moment we’re in right now.

And take a step back, everybody.

If I told you this is where we would be when this disaster began, would you believe me?

Sure, the damage has been serious. No doubt about it. Trump and Project 2025 have caused a lot of harm to our country, and it’s going to take a lot to rebuild. But he and Elon Musk thought they were going to destroy us. Far from it. I think we’re stronger than ever right now.

As I’m eating lunch on Sunday, that’s my reflection.

But now we have to talk about building generational change, getting out of this loop of back and forth, this seesaw that pulls us all down from one election to the next.

We need to recognize that public service means just that, public service, and we have to elect people who actually want to deliver results for us. We have to have respect for ourselves, for future generations, for our country, and for this world that we inhabit, right?

And finally, I want to touch upon this disastrous war.

You saw the reporting that Donald Trump now wants to do whatever he can to get the Strait of Hormuz opened. He doesn’t even care about denuclearization anymore, but Iran is holding strong to its demands and the memorandum of understanding.

So Trump’s trying to leave, but he can’t even leave because Iran is saying, no, you started it, you fix it, buddy. You fix it.

And Trump is flustered.

Netanyahu is saying Israel is going to invade now no matter what Trump does, regardless of what Trump does to try to bring the U.S. back into it.

And we’re seeing all these other alliances being forged in the Middle East. For example, the Mecca Pact between Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Turkey. These organizations are now replacing the U.S.-led security umbrella because Trump screwed up America’s ability to lead the world. It just doesn’t exist anymore. It’s going to have long-term consequences, which I talk about in my videos. The world recognizes that he’s weak, he’s pathetic, he’s a liar. He doesn’t do deals. He doesn’t keep his word. And, you know, the world is moving on. We’re seeing that happen, and it’s a major part of my coverage.

Look, we continue to expand here at the MeidasTouch Network. And we talk about how this Substack community, how the Meidas Mighty community, has been a major part of leading change throughout this country and the world and how we’re going to keep doing that.
