How come the whole world knows what Trump is and Congress does nothing????

Heather.B's avatar

We are still waiting for Congress to actually do something! How much more does Congress need before they get off their asses and impeach, remove and convict?

In just ONE year, Trump ended the United States and threw the entire world order into complete chaos. He is claiming there has never been a term like his. He has just told the truth! Never has this Country seen so much destruction at every level. Never have we seen the lawlessness in a President in our life. He has tanked the economy, sent prices soaring and decimated the job market. He has enriched himself and his family immensely in just one year. What has he done for the people? NOTHING.

We’ve seen some devastating attacks on our rights. But we won’t stop fighting and neither should you! It is up to We, the People to STOP HIM! This "We the People are PISSED OFF" tee is more alive than ever before 👇

https://libtees.dashery.com/products/78782439-we-the-people-are-pissed-off-t-shirt

Trump should never have been allowed to run for office after Jan 6. He should be in prison!

This is not a serious country...

Rakca's avatar

How do you define fighting in this context? I honestly am looking for an action plan and my Congressionpersons are immovably on board against Trump already.

Check out Public Citizen.org. They have filed 25 suits against this administration (and more coming). They also hold zoom town halls (viewers remain anonymous) about every 3 or 4 months with updates, etc. Just received an email from them where Musk has already started donating money to a campaign in KY for one of Vance's maggat friends and to sign a petition. Public Citizen is based in DC. I most times never fail to sign a petition and donate to them as I can. Just FYI

It means doing everything YOU can to protest from yelling in the streets to Social Media. Republicans in Congress are only now growing a spine and Yes even some Democrats. It means supporting everybody you can in other states Not Just Yours. It's past time we all remember that we all support each other in Every State from the ground up. Look up what Sally Fields has to say on the matter, she is FREAKING Awesome. It doesn't stop here just reading and writing about it, it may actually Start Here on Meidas. It Is Up To All Of US! PLEASE!

Democracy Is Hard Work. Being able to Vote isn't Just Your Right it is in fact what ALL of us should do. It is your Weapon. But it never stops there, fact checking is paramount and it is very public. Your Rep.s and your Senators Vote in OUR names and How they vote and why they vote is a matter of public record, for the most part. If you disagree on how they vote you have to tell them and never stop telling them. It is Hard Work and while we All Slept and never did our due diligence Hate and Fear came to power and the money that feeds this power is not Just trump or Vance. It is the Neo Nazi Hate of Project 2025 and The Heritage Foundation, among others. Call it what you will the KKK in all it's forms. The masked ICE agents of the Modern Day Gestapo.

Does nobody know how all this works??

'There is no single fixed interval between a bill's passage in the House and a Senate floor vote; timing depends on procedure, priorities, and strategy. Key factors and typical timelines:

• Referral and committee action (hours to months)

• **Once the House sends a passed bill to the Senate**, it is formally received and referred to the appropriate Senate committee. The committee may act quickly (markup/report the bill in days) or **delay indefinitely**. Some bills are reported out the same day; many sit in committee for weeks or **months**.

• Unanimous consent and suspension (hours to days)

• If the measure is noncontroversial and senators agree, unanimous consent can place it on the floor within hours or the next day. "Suspension" procedures or expedited handling can also speed consideration.

• Calendar placement and cloture (days to weeks)

• To reach a contested floor debate, Senate leaders must place the bill on the calendar. Opponents can require cloture (a 60-vote threshold to end debate)'

Jaclyns🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿Brit's avatar

you know what Republican bill did get passed???

fancy showerheads. As Rep Stansbury said "rich people shower heads!!" that went through in about four days. that’s their list of priorities. how many bills do you think that the Democrats have put through?! they 100% definitely have not been any to do with showerheads!!

Trump just didn’t destroy the White House and the East Wing

Every day he is in power more destruction does he bring

Congress we are on our knees begging you to act

To get rid of this traitor and leave our democracy intact

No more concentration camps tear them all down

Get rid of this administration and the addled clown

Enough with ICE invading all our towns

Way past time to put this corrupt adminisration down!

Jaclyns🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿Brit's avatar

Republicans DO NOT CARE. They sit in the senate. They're all just sitting there. They quickly denied that one about giving clean water to Colorado. not important to them. Dems have sent multiple bills through for impeachment of the president and the impeachment of Noem and the impeachment of Pam Bondi. of course Republicans are not going to push any of these bills forward. Why would they bother. They're getting paid to say no to everything.

Congress = Republican Members of Congress = Self Interest, Money, Power, Maybe Fear

Bluefin's avatar

They only care about their jobs rather than to care anything about their constituents, the people they're supposed to serve. . . . ergo, they're afraid trump will have them primaried.

We have an important vote coming up in Congress. We can stop Ice funding! It will take some pressure on Congress. Here's how it looks there are

nine appropriations bills that are still not passed by Congress and must be signed by Trump by January 30th, those parts of the government may shut down again.

There are two ways to avert this: One is for Congress to pass another continuing resolution (by January 30th) to keep funding those agencies at last year’s levels, while the other is for Congress and the president to pass/sign the bills by January 30th.

But when it comes to the Homeland Security (ICE) bill…maybe they shouldn’t? and still not funded after Jan 30th

Senate Democrats have leverage here. Appropriations bills can be filibustered — and you need 60 votes in the Senate to stop a filibuster. There's only 53 Republicans in the Senate, so they Coneed to convince seven votes from Democrats and or independents to overcome a filibuster and fund Homeland Security (and ICE) past January 30th. However independents and democrats should say they could fund the other vbut refuse to give them the 7 votes they need until they agree. and this would not fund homeland security and ICE.... if the government shuts down ICE BUT really ISIS will not get the funding needed to keep paying the goons

In other words, Democrats can demand significant changes to ICE in exchange for their votes — or withhold their votes and cut off Homeland Security (and ICE’s) funding.

And without that vote would run out of money past January 30th. Agents would likely have to work without pay, or stay home. And you know these guys will not work

I thought that if President Trump or Trump, I hate calling him president set foot in Switzerland that they were going to arrest him for war crimes. Why is he there giving a speech why when he’s out of the country are they not arresting him for war crimes which we know he is Guilty enough?

ICE pulled a handcuffed woman into a gross a$$ PORTA POTTY. To RAPE her ‼️

I would love to get an accurate report of that issue. We have all seen the video, and made guesses about what was going on, but nobody seems to have found or talked to the woman. Is she in detention? Has she been too frightened to speak up? Inquiring minds would like to know!

DW's avatar

I have watched it over and over again and again. HOW can you tell? No Corroborative Evidence to make that claim and I am sorry I really am. The person falling on his or Her ass could be actually helping her. BUT to post this HERE without Evidence is actually hurting that person as well. Any other claims?? By that Person? It sucks for sure and could have actually happened or could it be staged?? The video SUCKS and cameras do way better than that. Yes it looks to be from a long distance. Again Cameras do Way Better than that. NOW the really scary part. People on both sides are beginning to use AI Enhanced video on social media and I am Not Saying that is what this is. But it hurts what is actually happening in Minnesota. The fact is people are most likely being raped, humans after all can be a very ugly bunch, absolute power, after all corrupts. People are being taken from there homes and disappeared, woman and children. The American Nazi Gestapo and They Do Not Care.

Peter Theil Now In Charge Of Vigilante Voter Challenges

The Nazi Republican experiment in the state of Georgia went so well….got the dictator king elected by a mere 1.5m votes…. that Cheeto now wants to go national with the vigilante challenges to registered voters(bit.ly/41UelTx) Cheeto is pulling out all stops to effect the upcoming midterms and he’s put in charge the fascist Peter Theil(he’s the billionaire who bankrolled Just Dance Vance into the Senate) with his Palantir software company which has now been underwritten by the federal government

Theil has been gifted a number of databases from the DOGE raid on the federal government agencies such as the Treasury, OPM (Personnel Management), SSA (Social Security Administration), Education, HHS, CMS (Medicare/Medicaid), IRS, and HUD DOJ has sued Democratic states for their voter databases and have lost in court over the California lawsuit

So the demented king Cheeto has ordered his fascist billionaire buddy Theil to use his software to compile a master database for his Nazi Republican party going into the midterms so that vigilante challenges can be done en masse so as to remove registered voters from the polls Be ready to vote early to avoid being doxed as a registered voter

Reading all the comments by working people who are working two jobs, eating cereal rather than bacon and eggs, borrowing money to survive, losing jobs and not being able to find new ones, is heartbreaking.

The problem is that MAGA people don't read facts that are readily available on MeidasTouch or other independent news sources. They probably believe what Trump tells them, that this is all Joe Biden's fault. They will continue to vote for Trump and their Republican representatives in Congress because they have been told by FoxNews and other right-wing "news" sources for years that Democrats are evil, selfish snobs who have everything.

It's incredibly frustrating and discouraging to know that the people hit hardest by his criminal behavior, grifting, pandering to the rich, and total insanity are his most loyal supporters.

It is by design and text book authoritarian strategy 🤬 we need to prove these mofos wrong / trump learned from putin and orban Using economic pressure isn’t the only way authoritarianism takes hold, but it deliberately makes life harder for the majority of citizens - by trump controlling relief and messaging had been a historical proven strategy to weaken resistance and consolidate power by putin, orban and other authoritarians.

If you don’t want to stand in line for a loaf of bread -

Call your legislators

Email your legislators

Attend as many rally’s and protests as possible- the bigger the better!!

It is critical to pay attention and vote 💙 in Local elections, state elections and federal elections

Local elections usually have much lower turnout than state or federal elections, which means:

   •   One vote can literally sway outcomes

   •   Small, organized groups can have a big influence

Your participation carries more weight per voter.

The more people that vote at all levels, drives officials to more likely reflect the community’s diversity and values; low turnout can let a small extreme minority decide policies that harm everyone.

You are living that right now!!

It seems that the Democrats are afraid of him too. I asked my representative twice now what she is going to do to end this madness, I got put on her e-mail list with nothing but photo-ops! And all it took to have avoided all of this shit aka fdjt's second presidency was 5 MINUTES to read the summary of P2025 which was posted online for months. We were told we were lying or FDJT didn't know anything about it.

"What I Want, When I Want It" Idiot In Chief Ignores Project 2025 On Tariffs, Chapter 26 (Trade by Peter Navarro), pp. 765-823, at pp. 803-805) https://tinyurl.com/3hp7j6mt

Raising tariffs on another country almost always invites retaliatory tariffs against the U.S. The latter tend to be directed at politically sensitive American exports. Federal Reserve research shows that the tariffs have cost about 75,000 manufacturing jobs while creating only about 1,000 jobs in the steel industry—not including the effects of the retaliatory tariffs described above. Higher steel prices added an average of $250 to the price of new cars, and larger trucks—the vehicle of choice in rural America—were hit even more dramatically. Trade is generally a win-win for both participants. Tariffs are a lose-lose-lose game, with the tariff raiser losing affordable goods, the tariff target losing exports, and the tariff raiser losing again from retaliatory tariffs. Tariffs also have an additional overlooked hidden cost: Companies redirect resources to dodge tariffs by redesigning products, switching to more expensive suppliers, using lower-quality materials, and lobbying. This might be good for lawyers, but it is bad for the economy. These resources could have been used instead to make a better product more cheaply. Conservatives warned against retaliation from the beginning: It was exactly what happened after the 1930 Smoot–Hawley tariffs that worsened the Great Depression.

I would love to share your articles, but feel they would be better if they had citations so individuals can verify the information for themselves.. especially for Orange lovers... because verifiable facts are more digestible and persuasive than information that can't be sourced. Thanks for your consideration.

Orange lovers should do their own research. Maybe they'd get over that terminal ignorance and racism.

I have tried, with no success, to have some sympathy for anyone who voted for trump and is now in fiscal peril. I cannot, truly cannot, understand why anyone would have voted for this lying, grifting president who lies and lies and says whatever will get him votes. He doesn't give a fig for any of his citizens, unless they are very wealthy and can contribute to all his hare-brained projects. He has no concept of caring for anyone-it is totally outside his comprehension, and why they would have a problem understanding that after his first campaign-let alone his first presidency-is unimaginable!!

Does anyone think Trump has ever gone grocery shopping or visited Costco, Sam's Club or a big box store? Has he ever cooked a meal for himself, let alone for his family. I seriously doubt that he has done any of these things. He has no idea how the majority of citizens live, day to day!

Ben, is there some way you can take the truth to people on Fox News without them cutting you off and distorting your words? The people who need to know so badly are the ones being fed lies and altered news as ways of creating still more lies. Your work here is wonderful, but the people who fail to get your news do not even understand how desperately they need to hear it and understand.

World Economic Forum Davos 2026: Special address by Mark Carney, Prime Minister of Canada Jan 20, 2026 https://tinyurl.com/4rfz3znc (Edited for brevity)

[There is] a rupture in the world order, the end of a pleasant fiction and the beginning of a harsh reality, where geopolitics, where the large, main power, geopolitics, is submitted to no limits, no constraints.. It seems that every day we're reminded that we live in an era of great power rivalry, that the rules based order is fading, that the strong can do what they can, and the weak must suffer what they must. So, what are our options?

The system's power comes not from its truth, but from everyone's willingness to perform as if it were true, and its fragility comes from the same source. When even one person stops performing, when the greengrocer removes his sign [of acquiescent complicity], the illusion begins to crack. It is time for companies and countries to take their signs down. This bargain no longer works. We are in the midst of a rupture, not a transition.

A world of fortresses will be poorer, more fragile and less sustainable. The middle powers must act together, because if we're not at the table, we're on the menu. Great

powers can afford for now to go it alone. They have the market size, the military capacity and the leverage to dictate terms. Middle powers do not. This is not sovereignty. It's the performance of sovereignty while accepting subordination. It means acting consistently, applying the same standards to allies and rivals. It means building what we claim to believe in, rather than waiting for the old order to be restored.
