Its ironic Elon Musk is criticizing the BBB. He’s gutted the government, done nothing for efficiency, still has his government contracts and yet pays no taxes.

Sondra Sorensen's avatar

It's not ironic. Musk isn't getting what he needs out of the bill. The guy has a form of autism (by his own admission) but he's not stupid. He sees how increasing the debt will hurt his money making machine and some sneaky stuff in the bill that won't be good for him. Believe it, it's only about him and money.

Keep the Teslas going up in flames!!! Next up....use a few spare Ukranian drones to take care of Taco's 747.

I’m hoping trumpy gets really pissed and goes after musks contracts.

You sure nailed that one!

And a dumbass slow learner. You'd think he could have learned something from his dismal failures to impeach Joe Biden or link Hunter to his father's reputation with NO evidence to prove it, but NO. The dimmest bulb on the porch is now investigating absurd conspiracy cults AGAIN.

Talk about fraud, waste, and abuse. The Republican calling card. Plus the criming .

Comer and company love to waste taxpayer's money. What do they expect to prove? Why don't they do some real work for a change? It's bad enough that former President Biden will be undergoing cancer treatments and is likely at a low point and yet they still won't leave the man alone. There are so many other things they could be doing to help the country and yet they must be doing this for felon47. They are nothing but spineless amoebas and hope they lose their jobs next election.

bLUEduRham's avatar

Hateful lowlifes, the lot of them.

bitchybitchybitchy's avatar

Comer and his GOP/MAGA cronies have no sense of decency. They feed on hate, "owning the libs ", and tearing things down.

WJB Motown's avatar

MAGA Comandment #1......"Thou shalt trigger the libs"

Oaktown's avatar

True ... and me too.

Maybe Comer is emboldened despite his past dismal defeats because his far more intelligent nemesis and chief tormentor Jared Moskowitz is leaving the Oversight committee.

Joyce's avatar

That's too bad that Moskowitz is leaving. At any rate, I hope this investigation is a flop.

Oaktown's avatar

Sounds like a good show today; I'm off to watch it on YouTube. Thanks, as always, Ron, for telling it like it is.

bitchybitchybitchy's avatar

If Elon keeps exhorting people to kill the OBBB wait for more stories about Elon's drug use,his mania about populating the world with his spawn, etc.

Get the popcorn ready.

SFGal's avatar

Yeah, but just think what dirt Elon may have uncovered on DT while rifling through all our federal records. The mind boggles!

bitchybitchybitchy's avatar

And Elon's just the kind of guy to weaponize that

Richard's avatar

That's what I've been saying, Elon has dirt on tRump. Elon had best stay away from open windows, might bring on a food taster as well. He could blow his whole presidency up. An admission of election tampering may just be the impetus needed to detach the parasite.

SFGal's avatar

Waiting with bated breath!

Kamm's avatar

Musk may weaponize info on tRump but it may come to bite the rest of us in the a$$. tRump going on a real rampage could endanger us all not just Musk.

SFGal's avatar

I agree as always prepared for the worst from DT treating us all as his whipping posts. Someone has to suffer for his egomaniacal rampages: might as well be us.

olderwoman's avatar

You know in the old western movies where the two men face off for a duel in the center of a dusty street?

I think it would be great to see Musk and Trump have a duel and it ends up to be total mutual destruction of both of them, they BOTH shoot each other dead. (Socially and politically dead)

SFGal's avatar

Cool idea -- if only! Your mutual destruction term reminds me of the nuclear war language in that respect: mutually assured destruction (MAD code term). I'd say MAD fits them both, at least on the top of the list of all that nasty bunch.

Romell Reed's avatar

trump can't admit that Joe Biden was a GREAT PRESIDENT so he denies all his accomplishments that every sane person can see, makes up preposterous lies (Biden is a robot) to discredit Biden. Let's compare Biden's record to trumps............................

Lone Birgitte Reeslev's avatar

Can hardly wait! This is without comparison my favourite show, but I'm behind because I've been traveling without possibility to listen to you two geniuses. So I'll start with last week's show because I don't want to miss ANYTHING. Where it comes to "Uncovered" I suffer from a severe case of FOMO ;)

Patricia Williamson's avatar

I don't know if this is the place for this, but are you aware of a lawsuit in Rockland County, New York concerning the 2024 General Election. There seems to be an issue with the vote count for a couple offices. What struck me about this is that Democrats voted for the Democrat Senator but not one vote for Kamala Harris. Doesn't that seem strange? Surely, she would have gotten some votes. I wonder if Musk used his money to pay election workers to shift votes to Trump. Someone needs to look into this. I don't want to be a conspiracy theorist, but something seems fishy.

Well-hell-hell!! Bannon is beginning to grow a microscopic conscience? Sour grapes, eh, Stevie? Repugs need to figure out which side they’re on.

Oaktown's avatar

NOT. He's calling to revoke Lindsey Graham's passport or throw him in jail for humiliating inferences while in Ukraine and implying our TACO in chief's oval office claim Zelenskyy didn't "have the cards" has proven false. Bannon and other MAGA critics of US involvement in the Ukraine conflict claim Graham may have encouraged Zelensky to launch the “audacious” drone attack on Russian territory, which they claim could have led to a serious escalation or started WWIII. That's in keeping with the party line.

But Bannon IS calling for taxing the rich, which will not play well with Numbnuts and the MAGAs who've been bought and paid for BY the rich. The ensuing internal battles will be interesting to watch. When thieves take to fighting among themselves, perhaps an honest person will stand a chance.

Bluesmurf's avatar

Is Lindsey perhaps up for re-election? I see that he is - 2026. So, of course, he has to blow with the wind of his constituents, make it look like he can stand up to trump so he can keep his seat. He should lose it, though S. Carolina is pretty hard-core red.

The Police State is Coming

Alex Karp, Peter Thiel, JD Vance, Curtis Yarvin are names you may or may not recognize but they are behind the scenes creating and privatizing a Fed database that is committed to produce a civilian surveillance system using AI eliminating loss of civilian privacy Illegal? Hell yes!!! How to create a vast civilian database so they can manipulate us

The above cast of characters are the minds behind this system that will have the potential to corrupt elections for good since they will have the data on all of us From the “burn it all down and start over” Yarvin to financier Thiel and government supporter and idealogue Vance to Karp who oversees the Palantir software, they all are playing the role as participants in trying to turn the US into the Third Reich And they’re acting fast….blitzkrieg if you will

With the use of the AI Palantir software the techbros are on a path to create a technoauthoritarian surveillance state meant to destroy the democratic republic and install their 21st century Nazi style of governing

But AI is a scam meant to veil the sinister underpinnings of this movement which they claim is Christian Remember “We tolerate no one in our ranks who attacks the ideas of Christianity. Our movement is Christian.” Adolph Hitler 1928

Americans can do something about this by standing up and protest protest protest against this government takeover This is the way WE the People defeat fascism and this kind of fascist takeover Join the Resistance Lab

See https://bit.ly/3FGOreX Stewart interview of Cadwallader

SFGal's avatar

Sorta feels like it's already here. And make that White Christian Nationalists. I follow Gil Duran with Nerd Reich whose newsletters and programs pretty much elucidate what you've shared above in some familiar detail.

olderwoman's avatar

They have this playbook.

Recall Cambridge Analytica and Facebook.

Remember that?

It is a complete danger to Americans for their government to create a massive database on them pulling in data from all over the government. This is a big danger

🚨. 🚨. 🚨

Bluesmurf's avatar

Yes, it is wrong - and good or bad, they can't just snap their fingers and pull this amount of information into a single database. Creating this monstrosity will take time and while they are creating it, more data is being collected every day in the Yottabyte size - yottabyte (YB), equivalent to 1 septillion bytes (1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 bytes).

I'm going to guess it will be "years" before any such database has "everything in it." Access to our current data across all the databases in order to build such a monstrosity is more of a threat and concern.

SFGal's avatar

Which one? They're all narcissistic sociopaths! I mean Johnson whining stock trading for members of Congress because their $174,000/year salary (with myriad benefits on our tax dime) just isn't enough to provide for a family in the current economy as he and his henchmen heartlessly determine our fate with an inhumane budget for common folk.

Oaktown's avatar

Don't forget their Cadillac health insurance plans.

SFGal's avatar

That's what I mean -- pensions, health coverage for their families, gym and cafeteria memberships, office staff and supplies, transportation, per diem, paid if not free parking, cut-rate Congressional hair salons, $79/day meals while they intend to cut the SNAP $6/day allowance for needy kids . . . I'm sure we pay for more of their subsidized benefits I've probably overlooked here.

olderwoman's avatar

SFG- They pay themselves:

"$79/day meals while they intend to cut the SNAP $6/day allowance for needy kids . . . "

SFGal's avatar

You're right -- hadn't considered that and a while ago saw on another site that their health coverage, once in office and even thereafter, is for life. I'd like to check that out as since you remind above that could be one of the benefits they actually voted for themselves. Just not fair! Take care.

Buried in Section 70302 of the budget reconciliation bill is a bit that would severely restrict federal courts’ authority to hold government officials in contempt if they violate judicial orders. This needs to be in the center of conversation. I hope you will talk about it.

Thank you for the informative discussions on the topics you touched on today.

SFGal's avatar

Stimulating discussion on migrant labor deportations economic impact and Stephen Miller's ICE freakout. I loved the Joni Ernst breakdown with her having created a slam-dunk Dem campaign ad with what another outlet termed her "smirking sadism."

Enjoyed evidence that CNN pimping Tapper's book has tanked their ratings. I pretty much left MSNBC due to Joe & Mika's MAL pilgrimage three days after the election. I do watch "The Weeknight" and Laurence O'Donnell is my favorite, but I also enjoy Jen Psaki.

I appreciated Ron sharing insights from his criminal law years. I'd never have guessed he was a republican, joining the Dems once he started a family. Exploring Bannon and Musk recent public spats was interesting. Ron's critique of the female cult "MAGA face" and Leavitt's "Jackson nose" provided a bit of concluding sardonic humor as only he can deliver! Great program!
