On today’s show we started off talking about the heated and contentious Senate Judiciary hearing with AG Pam Bondi yesterday, where she hurled insults at Democratic senators and refused to answer any questions.

We talked about the Epstein stuff that came up in the hearing, then spent quite a bit of time on how Trump and his entire regime is well into authoritarianism in so many different areas.

I talked about Stephen Miller’s unhinged comments about judges and protesters, and how he and Trump are creating the pretext to send the US military into American cities.

Coupled with that is Trump and Hegseth’s partisan political speeches to troops - which is calculated to condition them not to push back in any way if they are used against American citizens.

I also showed how MAGA agitators are going into Portland and Chicago to try and instigate violence with peaceful protesters to create conditions to provide a justification for Trump to send in troops. Another part of that is documented false police reports from ICE against protesters.

We also discussed Gavin Newsom and the job he has been doing responding to virtually everything the Trump admin has been doing, and how we have wanted a Democratic leader to step up in a non-election year and lead. Anthony just wrote a Substack that he is all-in backing Newsom for president and thinks he is the only one who can win. A link to that is here.

I still haven’t made up my mind. I like a lot of them and want to hear them all out. However, I do agree with Anthony that they need to get out there and lead at the national level sooner than normal rather than simply focus on their states until 2027. They are either out there in 2026 or I am crossing them off my list.

And they also have to promise to tear down the ballroom and get all that ugly gold out of the White House.
