I’m not a fan of that kind of language in public spaces but I 100% agree with what Carville is saying. It is what I mumble to myself while reading the news these days. One of many day dreams I have is the sick evil mean monster he is referring to in the wrestling ring at the WH with Carville, frail as he looks. Carville with his intelligence and the deep anger many of us share would make mincemeat of that lying tub of lard who might then have many real bone spurs. Sadly, just a fantasy. I was appalled at all the death caused by Bush 2, now a little painter who says nothing. The efforts to defeat it are many (and this list is not complete) and must be stopped each time an advance is made largely, but not entirely, until the SAVE/Jim Crow Act:

• Removing qualified voters from rent rolls

• Preventing qualified voters from voting at polls, including DHS intimidation

• Preventing rural and other challenged voters from voting remotely (by mail)

• Making the registration process excessively challenging

• Preventing voting due to inability to present specifically required identity proof

• Substituting state legislators for designated ones (a redux of 2020)

• Seizing current ballots (as was done in GA, with 2020 ballots as a beta test)

• Intimidating electors (a 2020 redux with Vance doing what Pence didn’t)

You might want to read the TWENTY-FIFTH AMENDMENT and understand its limitations:

"1: In case of the removal of the President from office or of his death or resignation, the Vice President shall become President.

2: Whenever there is a vacancy in the office of the Vice President, the President shall nominate a Vice President who shall take office upon confirmation by a majority vote of both Houses of Congress.

3: Whenever the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that he is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, and until he transmits to them a written declaration to the contrary, such powers and duties shall be discharged by the Vice President as Acting President.

4: Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.

Thereafter, when the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that no inability exists, he shall resume the powers and duties of his office unless the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive department or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit within four days to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office. Thereupon Congress shall decide the issue, assembling within forty-eight hours for that purpose if not in session. If the Congress, within twenty-one days after receipt of the latter written declaration, or, if Congress is not in session, within twenty-one days after Congress is required to assemble, determines by two-thirds vote of both Houses that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall continue to discharge the same as Acting President; otherwise, the President shall resume the powers and duties of his office."

Section 4 ONLY allows the Vice President of the United States and a majority of the principal officers of the executive departments to declare that the President is not able to discharge his powers and duties, and ultimately, the Houses of Congress would settle a dispute between the President and the Vice President over the President's mental capacity.

HOWEVER, the 25th Amendment does NOT permanently remove the President from the Office of the President of the United States.

The Impeachment procedure by the United States House of Representatives (Constitution, Article I, Section 2(5)). The impeached President would then be tried before the United States Senate sworn as a Court of Impeachment, and a two thirds vote of Senators present for conviction and removal will ONLY remove the President from Office; and a second vote to bar the impeached, convicted and removed official from ever serving in an Office of Honour, Trust and Profit of the United States (Constitution, Article I, Section 3(6 & 7).

The monstrous "social" that he did for Mueller's passing last night was nothing. I would predict that nukes are going to be involved before long. Hope I'm wrong, but that's the last measure of self-discipline. And I think Trump/Hegseth/Miller are about to violate it.

A war to get rid of nukes may lead to a nuclear war. We're all forked.

Republicans in Congress have relinquished all their congressional and oversight authority to Trump and his regime.

Many republicans replaced the ones who used to pull the reins on Trump, some have bought into destroying democracy, some are worried about being primaried and others have admitted privately that they and their family’s safety have been threatened.

On top of all this, the Trump regime and Musk dismantled the agencies that enforced checks and balances.

It’s all part of Project 2025. So that leaves us in pretty bad shape.

Why not get out in front of the Midterms and present the alternative?

Just criticizing does little. Repetition of wrongdoing is needed but changes nothing in a vacuum that should - must - include achievable alternatives

Winning the Midterms will not solve the problem, though it may stanch the bleeding. In effect some form of veto. A veto helps but is not a platform.

Republicans in Congress with few exceptions are traitors. Fetterman, too.

DOGE has two functions and accomplished both: (1) dismantle the administrative state per Vought's 2025 plan (the GOP plans; hello, Dems?); and (2) seize, compile and deliver personal data to Palantir for processing.

We must support the Federal District (trial level) Court Judges. Most are on the right side of Justice (Cannon will burn in Hell); but most try even though their hands are tied behind their backs by Roberts + 5. Trump v. US put an end to sanity, marrying the Citizen's United dark money with untethered immunity, underscored by the pardon power and DOJ/FBI co-conspirators.

The Epstein Files could be their undoing. It never will be released - these people learned from Nixon's failure to say FU. That is what they say and do.

You are right about everything. Democrats don’t have a strong message or leaders like MAGA, even though Trump is a disgusting horrible liar.

And I don’t get why the Dems don’t address Project 2025 at all as if it doesn’t exist. They’ve accomplished 52% of their plan maybe more by now. I’m just a little fish but I wrote my senators, letters to the editors, and post constantly about it to no avail. They are working feverishly behind the scenes to finish every horrendous action. Paul Dans said what has been accomplished (of P2025) is way beyond his wildest dreams, and that was a year ago. The corrupt Supreme Court 6 have obviously part of P2025.

Yes the Trump administration is ignoring the Epstein saga thinking it will just go away. Interesting comparison to Nixon. What would have happened if he just kept denying and ignored it. Deny deny deny is Trump’s MO. Although Congress hadn’t relinquished their Congressional authority to the president like the current GOP and journalists weren’t threatened,arrested and fired then!

Other countries are pursuing Epstein disclosure even if the U.S. is getting the run around. So maybe there will be justice outside the U.S. and the nail in the coffin. Poland is requesting help from other countries to investigate Epstein and links to Russian intelligence. We should partner up with them!

Nixon before Trump orbited with the evil that was Roy Cohn. Trump learned to attack (particularly any attackers with ad hominem vitriol); deny everything/admit nothing; rename defeat as victory; litigate everything and exhaust opponents with costly appeals and other delays; manipulate the media. Nixon, another paranoid and delusional schizophrenic had the concept in his hat but could not pull the trigger and, when the chips were down, folded instead of telling Rose Mary Woods to lie about the 18-1/2 tap gap and then issue a pardon to her and refuse to turn over any presidential papers even after the Supreme Court ordered him to do so. It had little recourse. If Congress moved to impeach him, he should (under the Cohn theory of evil) attacked them; primaried them; threatened them; and (though it would have been bad for everyone, certainly me) found reasons to distract with Vietnam, which ended 8-9 months after he resigned. He was nasty but did not have the courage of is misguided convictions. (Good for America.)

The consistent lack of messaging is the bane of Democrats and generally has been since Truman. JFK might have been good. He had appeal and society was ready to shift from the white picket fence world of DDE to the start of the adult lives of the oldest Boomers. Not to wander too far, but I don’t think Oswald bore any more responsibility than Epstein did in the timing and method of his departure. LBJ started right with Civil Rights and Great Society legislation until his chits were called and he shifted into the world of, “Hey, hey, LBJ, how many kids did you kill today.” Dark money calls the tune. Carter, a nice man with good ideas, was useless, and Clinton had the good fortune to follow 12 years of Reagan and Bush 41, arriving just as technology gave us the Dotcom boom. Mostly, he was good for Clinton. IMO, Obama is the exception (great) that proves the general rule of my point, which is mediocre presidents. The GOP Congress hamstrung him but he re-centered the US somewhat despite Bush 43’s wars of choice.

Democrats need to dump Schumer who lurks but says nothing (“We will win” doesn’t cut it) and Jefferies, who reads the same script of unachievable platitudes whenever handed a microphone. We need people such as AOC; Jasmine Crockett; Maxwell Frost; Tammy Duckworth; Reuben Gallego; Chris Murphy; Mark Kelly; Chris Van Hollen; Ted Liu; Ro Khanna; Robert Garcia; other similar. People who know how to lead and will.

The people you mentioned are more progressive...and many of the elected democrats are scared to death of the change progressives would bring. They, as well as elected magas would lose so much money, influence, and power, that progressive democracy would bring to the people. And they'd have to change their focus to helping the people.

I agree with cutting the ineffective leaders and replacing them with people like AOC and Crockett or any of those you mentioned. Unfortunately, between corporate democrats, magas, AIPAC and the oligarchy, electing progressives will be very difficult. :(

I recently asked a (now former) friend who is a staunch Republican and Trumper if she was MAGA and she was totally offended. I guess some think there’s a difference.

I agree that there are no more “regular” republicans, who I also never agreed with. They are simply MAGAs now. No distinction.

If this regime falls the way Hitler and the Nazis did, which Trump is modeling his regime after, their actions will follow them to courts and trials.

The United States House of Representatives have the sole power to impeach, and it can be done by a majority vote of Members present pursuant to the UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION, ARTICLE I -- LEGISLATIVE, Section 2(5):

"5. The House of Representatives shall chuse their Speaker and other Officers; and shall have the sole Power of Impeachment."

However, you are correct to say that it will take a two thirds vote of Senators present for the United States Senate to convict and remove an impeached official on the Articles of Impeachment pursuant to the UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION, ARTICLE I -- LEGISLATIVE, Section 3:

"6. The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments. When sitting for that Purpose, they shall be on Oath or Affirmation. When the President of the United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside: And no Person shall be convicted without the Concurrence of two thirds of the Members present.

7. Trans issues? They really want to play that game again? Gas is up over a dollar a gallon, it costs much more to go to the grocery store. Do the Republicans think the general American cares about trans issues right now? We have a foolhardy excursion aka war going on that is distabilizing the whole world, and they want to pass legislatioon discriminating against a tiny group of people?
