Saturday Morning Message from MeidasTouch

I wanted to send you this message on Saturday morning because I’ve got a lot on my mind, and we’ve always shared a lot together, so I figured we should chat this morning.

I’m very excited as we approach the publication date of our book, WTF America, which comes out on Tuesday.

We dedicated it to the Meidas Mighty.

It tells the story of how MeidasTouch was created and how we grew into the biggest independent news network in the world.

It also talks about how we’ve harnessed the power of this network, along with the independent networks we’ve helped grow, whether they’re affiliated with us or not, into an international force for making the world a better place and fighting back against authoritarianism.

I say all this up front because it’s becoming more and more clear to everybody that these international forces of authoritarianism are linked.

The mafia gangster regimes of the Trumps and the Putins, and previously Orban, along with the Flavio Bolsonaros, the Javier Mileis and the Marine Le Pens, are coordinated.

And they’re linked with their oligarchs, who manipulate algorithms to hoist themselves up at the expense of everybody else.

Think about it as you watch Donald Trump running around the country on what I can only call his fraud tour.

Because that’s what it is.

City to city, just lying. And he’s at his most comfortable doing it, going everywhere, promising people everything and lying.

He relishes it.

You can see he enjoys abusing people.

The guy doesn’t know how to govern. He can’t build anything. He can’t make deals. He’s incompetent, he’s a bankrupter, he’s a loser and he’s a sex predator.

Now he’s speaking to increasingly small crowds, which is a good sign, but he’s out there claiming inflation is 1.7%, claiming he’s brought in $22 trillion, claiming prescription drug prices are the cheapest in the world and promising people $5,000 if they vote Republican which he will never deliver on.

Every syllable that comes out of his mouth is a complete and total lie, and he takes a perverted joy in it. You can see it on stage.

But there’s a countervailing factor here. The lies are his safe place. Performing them is where he hides. Because internationally right now, he’s getting beaten to a pulp and being made to look like an utter fool.

He’s stuck in catastrophic wars we never should have been involved in, where he doesn’t know what the hell he’s doing and is being outmaneuvered and checkmated in the most profound ways.

Zelensky and Europe are refusing to bow down to his gangster tactics, even as he and Elon Musk throttle Starlink and Starshield.

There are reports that he tried to see if Iran would let him drop a MOAB, the mother of all bombs, on Pickaxe Mountain so he could have a performative win, claim victory and leave. Iran basically said no, what are you talking about? And now Iran is preparing for all-out imminent war again.

Oil was over $112 a barrel yesterday.

He has surrounded himself with the worst and stupidest people imaginable.

The whole Katie Zacharia saga is so deranged and weird, but so typically Trump.

And then there he was at Mar-a-Lago last night, looking like death. He looked awful, just withering away.

So there are so many things happening at once right now.

We’re so close to the midterms, and I think there’s going to be profound change. I know how much work all of you have put into this, and here it is.

We’ve also got this book coming out, which I want to be an enduring work. I want it to live beyond the midterms, to live generationally, and if anything were to happen to me, to provide a template for how I think we should build generational structures for generations of elections.

Not just to win an individual election or elections, but to build an actual government that delivers for generations, one we can all be proud of.

I’m so proud of all of you.

I go back and read these Substack posts from two years ago together, and see where we’ve come.

I’m confident we’re going to make history.

And trust me, Trump and MAGA are desperate.

They’re scared as hell right now, and they’re going to try everything.

I think they want a national security incident. They want something. So we’re going to stay on guard, we’re going to build, we’re going to fortify, and we’re going to keep working every day.
