Trump’s Brutal Welcome In Ireland
Trump landed in Ireland, officially for meetings with Taoiseach Micheál Martin, but let’s be honest, the real reason he’s there is the Irish Open at his golf course.
The folks in Dublin didn’t seem too pleased about his arrival:
They didn’t exactly roll out the red carpet for the guy.
Early reports say about 50K people hit the streets, carrying signs calling him a war criminal and accusing him of covering up the Epstein Files. The giant balloon caricatures floating above the crowd of Trump, Netanyahu, and Epstein made quite the splash.
Trump, despite being blocks away, of course claimed he hadn’t heard of any protests.
WTF Was That Press Conference?
Once Trump sat down with reporters, things got worse. He again said the Iran War would end “very soon, probably right after the midterms.” He was asked about the Saudi pipeline attack and said Iran was “probably” responsible. He absurdly claimed the Houthis called him personally to tell him how much they respect him and how they’ll let through U.S. ships peacefully. Houthi leadership responded almost immediately, with spokesman Hasan al-Assad calling Trump’s claims baseless and quoting an old proverb about kissing the hand you cannot break. Houthi leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi also released footage mocking the Saudi royal family, implying they used to dance for Trump like his puppets.
During the presser, Trump also again claimed that both Canada and Iran are now “begging” to make a deal. On Ireland, he said he’d love to see the island unified, breaking with decades of official U.S. neutrality on the issue. He suggested the UK might not have the resources to defend the Falkland Islands anymore (this while he’s quietly arming Argentina with Black Hawk helicopters). Trump continues to lash out at our (former?) allies for not jumping into his reckless and illegal war.
And In New Delhi…
While Trump was jeered in Dublin, Iran was getting treated like royalty at the BRICS summit in new Delhi. Iranian officials held direct talks with China’s foreign minister and Iran’s president was received with full honors alongside Xi Jinping, Putin, and Modi. BRICS leaders also announced a new payment system called BRICS Pay, aimed at reducing reliance on the U.S. dollar.
Running From Yemen
Saudi-backed forces are in full retreat across Yemen. Satellite imagery has now confirmed the East-West pipeline was hit in multiple locations, and Houthi forces are closing in on Marib, with some analysts suggesting the city could fall within days. A regional source told CNN this is “a Saudi-American f**k up of epic proportions.”
A Few Other Things
Trump posted again about his $5,000 bribe, already blaming Democrats for saying it will never happen. The guy is a scam artist. A con man. News organizations should treat him accordingly.
In Ohio, Republican Sen. Jon Husted’s campaign has now fired its political director after WaPo found photos of him posing with Nazi SS imagery and following Waffen-SS reenactment accounts online.
Down in Austin, Sen. Ted Cruz was on ESPN for some reason at a College Gameday. He got brutally booed and the crowd broke out into “Ted Cruz sucks” chants live on television.
