While we are slowly, oh so slowly, moving away from fossil fuels, the rest of the world is moving on quickly...why would industry want to build or relocate here with our out of date infrastructure. Places that rely on renewable energy won't have to worry about the next war in the middle east (assuming the dems get in power and end this one). But we can restore integrity to our government and have a society that does indeed support all those things we used to stand for...liberty and justice for all and that elusive pursuit of happiness and equality for all. And above all we as individuals can treat all our fellow citizens who are not criminals and child abusers with kindness, understanding (that doesn't mean agreement by any stretch of the imagination!) and dignity. We can work on righting the wrongs that are being done on a daily basis to our own citizens. So we have to work so very hard to get to the point we can do that!

I live sort of close to two "rivers"...in places they really aren't very wide at all but they do meet the classification of rivers and are part of the Ozark National Scenic Riverways. I used to ride my horse along these rivers and they have been very dear to my heart (for a long time planned to have my ashes scattered in them). Parts of where I live (like right here) are in a terrible drought (while other not so distant parts of MO had record flooding not too long ago) and I have not had the heart to pull up info to see how low the rivers are. But I feel it is critical to acknowledge that is it not trump that has caused the damage but the entire GOP Congress, every single one of them. And I agree the rest of the world knows it's not We the People of the US, but they also are recognizing it seems we the people don't have any power. For sure not right now. I think the Global Community knows who did this, and I think they will give us chance if the Fuhrer's Regime is dismantled, but you are right. At the moment America can't be trusted to provide the beneficial things we used to.
Thanks for these thoughts!! Oh my goodness that's awful about your river. I live sort of close to two "rivers"...in places they really aren't very wide at all but they do meet the classification of rivers and are part of the Ozark National Scenic Riverways. I used to ride my horse along these rivers and they have been very dear to my heart (for a long time planned to have my ashes scattered in them). Parts of where I live (like right here) are in a terrible drought (while other not so distant parts of MO had record flooding not too long ago) and I have not had the heart to pull up info to see how low the rivers are. But I feel it is critical to acknowledge that is it not trump that has caused the damage but the entire GOP Congress, every single one of them. And I agree the rest of the world knows it's not We the People of the US, but they also are recognizing it seems we the people don't have any power. For sure not right now. If trump were to drop dead the policies as supported by the GOP congress would continue as is so while he is a large part of the problem, the GOP congress, who could have stopped any of his actions is the larger part. At least that's what I think! Maybe, if he dropped dead all these GOP members of congress who like to use the excuse, they are too afraid o trump to vote against him would either end these horrific policies and work for their constituents, or what I believe they'd acknowledge that they were just using cowardice as an excuse to cove up that they too are horrible people.
